There is some humour to be found in the fact that Thomas doesn't know a damn thing about plants. If he knew about carnivorous ones he might not compare them quite so favourably to New Vegas. xD

Also, I hope it's okay that I've given him a bedroll. I didn't think about it when creating his list of items and it didn't seem to make sense for him not to own one.
