While modern historians may claim that Pythagoras is the child of a gem crafter, she is in truth a child of Apollo. Several priests of Apollo prophesied to her mother while she was pregnant that she would give birth to a girl supremely beautiful, wise, and beneficial to humankind. What is known for sure is that Pythagoras mother took her child with her, and vanished to the lands outside of Greece. There, her child would receive an education befitting the greatest of any era. Disguising her daughter as a boy, the young Pythagoras would study with the scholars of Mesopotamia, Egypt, and the Magi of Persia. Her wisdom grew that she was allowed to take part in sacred rituals that no foreigner before or after had been allowed to see, much less partake in. Some believe that Pythagoras was given knowledge directly by Apollo through her dreams. After this, Pythagoras returned to Greece, where she studied under other philosophers and wise men. In her homeland, Pythagoras was considered by some to be a prophet who could perceive future events. Including war, earthquakes, and death. From here, stories of Pythagoras are mostly short nuggets of wisdom passed down by other scholars who studied under her. Stories include the halting of a rampaging bear with words alone, and another of descending into the underworld. In the end, despite their life, Pythagoras and her students were ambushed one day. A fire was set in their building, where Pythagoras and many of her students perished. Amusingly enough, as one story tells that Pythagoras died due to a scenario involving fava beans, they hate said beans with a passion. Personality: Pythagoras is regarded as one of the most pious, celebrated individuals of their time. This is true, even of a servant. Pythagoras is one who achieved full control over their life, and in practice achieved full sense of their position in the world. Wise, kind, yet never indulging in frivolous celebrations. ________________________________________________________________ Parameters: Strength: D Agility: B+ Endurance: D Mana: B Luck: A Armaments: Alongside a bow and enchanted arrow, Pythagoras possesses an enchanted laurel that brings wisdom. Cannot defend against magecraft on the level of High-Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals. Independent Action A+: It is said that Pythagoras traveled to the underworld. There, several days were spent in solitude and isolation, before returning to the world above. There, she spread news of all that had transpired in her absence. While some believe this story to be false, Pythagoras will insist it is. As such, their rank in Independent action is highly unusual. Personal Skills High-Speed Calculations A: A skill that is a collection of the mathematical equations one mastered in life. It is a skill for rapidly calculating trajectory and probability. With it, a type of future vision is achieved, while also improving accuracy at short and long ranges. Guidance of the Underworld A: Pythagoras delved deeper than any of her era. It is said in hushed whispers that she left to the underworld of her own accord, and stayed there for many days and nights. Only to return many days later, with more wisdom than before. This skill is a representation of one who can delve into the underworld, and return. The underworld has textured their being, and various passive buffs have been placed upon their body. Grants a complete resistance to instant death techniques and a body that resists the call of death, similar to battle continuation. Wholesome Abstienance A: Diogenes Laërtius presents Pythagoras as having exercised remarkable self-control; she was always cheerful, but "abstained wholly from laughter, and from all such indulgences as jests and idle stories" This skill is a representation of the complete control of one's mental state. Control of emotion, joy, and the ability to reject the minor niggles and naggles of humanity's social nature. It is a skill for the perfect being who controls every aspect of their mind. It grants a great resistance from all forms of mental interference. Divinity A: The measure of one's aptitude as a Divine Spirit. Pythagoras is a child of Apollo, who traveled with Hermes within her lifetime. She studied under the gods, and possessed a piece of Apollo's flesh as a golden thigh that she presented often as proof of her claims. While some may dispute these claims, they are clearly fools not worth listening to. ________________________________________________________________ Noble Phantasms:
Name: Vélos tou Íliou Title: Purification of Heavenly Gaze Rank: A Type: Anti-Unit Range: 1~99 Targets: 1 Description: As a child of Apollo, Pythagoras was often called upon to speak to the priests of Apollo. To help train, teach, or provide guidance when her father was unavailable. It was decided that Abaris the Hyperborean would give Pythagoras a gift as a thanks for her piety. That arrow was a gift from Apollo, which shimmered with the power of the sun. While the arrow is more associated with Abaris (and thus more powerful in their hands) Pythagoras made good use of the gifted arrow. It is said that with this arrow, Pythagoras could travel across Greece, and appear in two separate locations at the same time. The reality is that the arrow creates an imaginary number bridge between locations, allowing one to instantly travel across vast distances. Leaving a temporal, imaginary being behind in their place for a short time. This imaginary individual can act independently of Pythagoras for a short period, before eventually blipping out of existence. This bridge is created merely by the firing of the arrow, and does not require a true name release. Alongside this, the arrow possessed purification powers that would purge others of sin and corruption. This is a result of its imaginary numbers principle, allowing it to temporarily remove another person from the field of play for a period of time, before dropping them back into the world. Upon releasing the true name, it is possible to remove another servant from the world for upwards of an hour, though the time can be adjusted by Pythagoras. Other objects may be removed as well, but depending on their size/mystery the period of time banished may be drastically reduced.
