Madison
Madison’s stomach rumbled at the idea of eating food, almost like it was telling her that she definitely wanted to try the burrito as Esme offered it. She nodded her head carefully, and walked with her hands crossed in front of her, linking her fingers together, over to the chair. She sat down in the chair, just as Sam chimed in about Esme’s decision to let Madison eat some of her food. Madison paused. But Esme’s answer, and the excitement to try human food, and act like a human made Madison’s heart stutter with excitement. She reached forward, having watched Esme eat and mimicked how she picked up the other half of the burrito, holding it up to her face and staring it over. Sighing, she brought it to her mouth and took a bite, her face instantly turning up into a smile as she chewed. “This makes me very happy.”, she chimed, chewing a large mouthful. She turned to Sam, holding up the burrito and smiled widely around her food, “I like the food!”
Dean Winchester
Dean’s face fell a bit when Sam asked about letting Esme get away. It wasn’t something he had really pondered, and even though his brother meant his words as a joke, it stung in the pit of Dean’s stomach, a bit. He didn’t have an answer for the non-question, because it wasn’t really his choice to ‘let’ Esme do anything. She just…didn’t come back. He smirked, giving a small and fake chuckle when Sam clapped his upper arm, and shook himself out of the thoughts he had begun having again. He turned his attention back to what was happening at the table, watching Madison dig into the burrito, extremely happy with the results of her first meal. Dean couldn’t help but smile proudly at her, giving her a thumbs up as her face turned to Sam. The kid was already growing on him, whether he wanted to admit it or not. He had a soft spot for orphans, especially girls that were on their own in the world. If he wasn’t careful, he would end up absolutely attached to her, like a father. As Esme threw his burrito at him, Dean’s reflexes barely stopped it from hitting him in the face. He caught it with one hand, and narrowed his eyes at her, “Really? Is this something I have to look forward to again? I thought we had grown out of that, by now.” He laughed and walked over to the table, glancing at Madison as he sat down in another free chair, gesturing for his brother to follow them. He turned his eyes back to Madison, and reached across to tap his fingers on the table, “Slow down there, kiddo. You’ll end up with heartburn…and I don’t want to see what your body tries to do when it has indigestion."
