Barca is a bit of an oddball. While he has an impact on his immediate surroundings, this is more so because he is awkward, he doesn’t do social interactions well. He has difficulty reading facial expressions and in expressing empathy, simply because his mind is always processing everything around him. Because of this, Barca typically tries to live in the moment, simply because he knows if he lets himself think about the future, he will think through every possible outcome. He dives into action because at times, there is no other way for him- the drama, the passion, the pleasure, it stimulates his mind. And helps him to understand the world a little bit better. 

Barca can be seen as rather conceited and self-centred at times, that his only priority is himself. Perhaps this is because he does have a bit of a boastful and cocky personality- because of what he can do and what he knows, he believes he is rather invincible- after all, like a game of chess, Barca can see several moves ahead. Because of the knowledge he has, he has a sense that people are predictable- and he will generally stop at nothing to prove that if challenged. 

He has a rather ruthless level of rationality, using his drive (when he has it) and determination (when it suits him) and sharp mind (When he feels the need) to achieve whatever end he sets for himself to get the boat for himself. He believes that happiness lies in the joy of achievement. When motivated, he pushes his goals through sheer willpower, where others might give up and move on, Barca continues, and generally through force of will, he pushes others along with him. 

Despite his arrogance or maybe because of it, Barca does have a gentle side, but due to typically teenage life, he has put up a tough front, not wanting to be seen as weak, or a target for bullying like many other "nerds" are.  With the right words and actions, you can break through this shell and find a rather vulnerable individual underneath- one that seeks the approval of others. And who merely wants to be accepted.
