With little of their magecraft remaining, and a weakened family crest, the Riveras continued what traditions they still could. Shortly after resettling, seeing poor returns, the family turned more towards worldly pursuits that would hopefully broaden their horizons, leading them to build an empire of oil fields in the southwest of the US. Sadly, this shift in perspective hasn't improved their prospects, with their family and magecraft little better than in stasis(stagnating). William "Wild Bill" Rivera was an only child, and one of the last hopes of the "Rivera" family. His parents tried to instill a desire to further the family into him, either via magecraft or the family business. Bill took to the learning, absorbing all the knowledge he could, but ultimately his family's goals never interested him, and he has decided to pursue his own future. As he grew, Rivera found a spirit of adventure and love for Westerns and the like. The idea of the freedom and the adventurous nature of the period(or at least the media portrayed there) appealed to him deeply, especially considering that society seemed to be trying to take that from people. It bothered him that people could willingly bind themselves, even if it was for the social contract. To Bill, man should be a creature of self determination, and these beliefs brought him into conflict with the teachings of his family. It drove him to rebel against his upbringing and society by becoming the last, greatest, truest gunslinger, a desperado fighting for true, personal freedom. Now he uses his inherited wealth and will as a free man to fund his crusade against society's shackles. Personality: Wild Bill could be described as eccentric. He lives in a world of delusions, thinking himself something as anachronistic as the last best gun in the west, a desperado, a cowboy. As his delusions are at least partially self imposed, he does not take kindly to people trying to "bring him out." He places a strong emphasis on freedom and disdains any authority he views as trying to curtail freedom. He also has a quick temper and tries to resolve any issue, that can't be talked out or has insulted his sensibilities, with fist or gun.
