Do you see how the second cell has been REALLY REALLY BIG and all the other cells are [sub]really really tiny[/sub]? What happened is that because the second cell has more information than the other cells. This is where the x's come in. We add a long line of x's as a placeholder to let the table know how large the cell needs to be. If we equally distribute the x's then all the cells will have the same width.
