I think you're on to something... Maybe this place was once a temple of sorts for a cult or religious organization. Which makes sense with all the magical booby traps and all. It also makes sense that only exclusive members of said cult or organization would be able to bypass it all.

Most cults I’ve run into are in the business of killing people. We should be able to detect the residual magic from those rituals.
