Kothar is currently 35 years old. He is above average in height with dark red hair and darker red facial hair. Keeping the sides of his head shaved and long across the top and back. His beard is kept neat when he can. His body is covered in tattoos that have clean cut lines and points reminiscent of a computer motherboard. They do not have any significance to his ability, its simply something he liked. Observant. Quiet. Curious. Calculating. A few terms we have come to identify this "Kothar" as an individual. Although not outright psychotic like some of his fellow inmates. We believe that he is simply biding his time and trying to come off as non-threatening. We are unsure just how long he plans on going about this long con, but it will not matter. His Alias Kothar comes from an ancient god of the forge from the ancient middle east. This alone promotes the fact that his ego and pride are very prominent and can be used against him. At his peak he described himself as a god of technology. This likely was the reason for his downfall, thinking that he was invincible gave the hero's the opportunity to defeat him. It has been 248 days since his last incident where he somehow got ahold of a guards watch and quickly turned it into one of his minions. Luckily his dampener stopped him from activating it before it could be destroyed. Again, just another warning as to why no technology of any kind is allowed around him. He may have this guise of being without his faculty's but make no mistake gentleman. The cold-hearted killer that destroyed half a metropolis before being stopped waits just under the surface. Background: David was born amongst a small Irish village to Peter and Sarah Goodrich. His upbringing was rather mundane. The only things that stood out where his ability to adapt and learn new technologies, inventions, and his above average build. These talents made him excel through his early years. Nothing ever presented itself as bad or ominous until he hit puberty, his ability to ‘talk’ to and shape technology around him to better suit his needs and wants. It started slowing with the odd mechanism or toy and soon became a small group of mechanical servants of different shapes and sizes fueled by his will alone. His original intention was to make his parents lives easier. That was until one of his creations went a little haywire. This creation was meant to cut grass and instead malfunctioned after some local kids damaged it. This thing nearly killed two of these kids before the machine could be brought down. The ensuing backlash forced the family from the village and sent the authorities after David for questioning. In his haste to protect himself from the authorities his creations defended him and ended up killing the two men that were to apprehend him. Confused and angry that his parents looked at him with fear, he ran. It took him a few years and a few back alleys deals before he was able to fully grasp his abilities and his Alias. Through the technology left in dumpsters, found in scrapyards, and scavenged at flea markets Kothar was born. Through hate, anger, and wanting to make the world more to his liking, he began his tirade across London. He started small, a tech building here, a train shipment there. Until one day he was able to raid government server banks for information and parts. His creations growing evermore complex. Robots of all shapes and sizes with a reinforced combat suit he made for himself. Sure, local heroes tried to intervene and sometimes they would thwart his plans. He wasn’t invincible just very hard to capture. It wasn’t until he unveiled his greatest creation, a nanite swarm built to break down organic and inorganic materiel only to replace it with technology to recreate the city. This forced the hands of the more powerful heroes to act against him. Half the city simply melted away before the hero’s defeated him. A super charged pinpoint EMP wiped out his machines and destroyed what they had created. Kothar was defeated, the scourge of London taken far away. The injuries he sustained during the fight nearly killed him. His machines dismantled and reverse engineered, his tech was now being used against him. A show of humiliation for sure, at least he knew they wouldn’t use the nanites as the world governments outlawed them. Now he waits at the bottom of the borehole for his chance to escape these bonds he created. Bonds that hold many prisoners here, bonds that will be broken again. Capabilities: Kothar is a jack of all trades and master of none, but better than a master of one. His training has taught him to be versatile in any situation, being able to modify his tactics and tech on the fly to work any angle in a team or solo operation. From tank, to healer, to ranged heavy hitter. With enough time and resources, he can fill any role. He is also a support role with being able to construct weapons and armor for himself and others as well as making constructs of varying sizes and purposes. His powers alone are not why he is a difficult opponent. Off the battlefield he is spectacular with any kind of tech, taking only a few moments to understand and adapt to any new technology. He can improve or change various parts of most mechanical objects as well making him a great mechanic. Power(s): Technoformation. Kothar can not absorb technology and metal directly into himself, yet. The best he can do is coat himself in his tech to create his armor and weapons. What he can do is glide through technology on a small scale, this allows him to take apart, shape, and reroute technology and mechanical things without the use of tools. His will alone powers most of the tech he uses himself. Often batteries of some sort will be used to keep the tech he gives to others or his constructs going. He does have or at least had several cybernetic implants that assist him, the only ones left are the ones behind his eyes and in his head to help with memory processing and eyesight. This helps him process information faster and gives his eyes a magnifying effect and limited night vision. The other three implants help to regulate his internal structures, the ones around his intestines where a result of his combat injuries during his last defeat. The other two are assisting with his lungs and heart to assist with air purification and to keep his heart going no matter what. His constructs are not to be trifled with either, from sentry drones to repair bots to murder droids they all serve a purpose and are very dangerous. He is still working on artificial intelligence but that’s still a long way off. Depending on what he has he can have a certain amount of these bots active at one time, the less complex the more he can have. Power Limits: As it was said before, Kothar cannot freely absorb technology into himself although he thinks he may be able to with more practice. Without specially constructed nodes his sphere of influence that he has over his drones is limited to a one-mile radius unless being powered by other means. The more time he spends with specific tech the better acquainted he is with it and the better he can use it. Kothar can only keep a certain number of droids active at one time depending on their complexity. Known Vulnerabilities: These gifts take a lot of calorie intake to maintain and if he is not careful, he can tire himself out and pass out. If he is rendered unconscious any link, he may have with any of the tech he is personally powering will also be rendered dormant. Temperature extremes and environmental hazards can still affect him, and his tech. fire or heat especially can overheat his tech if it is not protected against it, electricity can fry it or wipe it out completely, metal controllers can destroy his creations rather quickly if they are not entirely plastic. Also, as much as he hates to admit it, he is still just a human. Motives: To perfect himself, once this is acquired and the world cannot accept him, or he cannot accept them? Well, maybe mars will be a nice place to begin anew away from all the people. However, he does not believe that the heroes will just allow him to leave. Level: Threat level, as defined by the Borehole's parameters. I will assign this to your character. Recommended Containment Procedures: Power dampener choker, this choker limits his mental ability and influence on technology around him effectively stopping him from giving life to his creations. Limited rations, due to calories powering most of his abilities the prison limits the amount of food he can have a day. No tech, anything that comes close to him must be analog for everyone’s safety.
