Honestly, after a few days, I've leaned in hard into 1. But, I've considered mashing it up with 2. Think of it like how the Spartans were trained to be soldiers after they were kidnapped from Halo.

The idea there is that there'll be a number of select students from said school who'll be part of a secret program to increase the quality of men and women that'll come from the academy. This involves [i]'additional enhancements'[/i] that are experimental in nature. However, as their nation is plunged into war they're hastily deployed alongside other students from the same military academy. Their lab tests have all become field tests.
