Fortitude and Perseverance, while not synonymous, go hand-in-hand. Fortitude is the mental or emotional strength that enables courage in the face of adversity, while perseverance is the continuation in a course of action without regard to discouragement, opposition or previous failure. Fortitude and Perseverance are qualities that are found in most forms of life- a bear caught in a bear trap will chew off their legs to extend their waning life, a small mother bird will willingly fight off a snake just for the chance of saving their offspring. Similarly, this quality extends more-so to 'smarter' forms of life. Despite calamity, plagues, death, and many other setbacks, they will eventually build great towering cities, foster strong communities and create society. To put it simply, Fortitude is the drive of betterment- the courage to push past adversity with deathly calm and patience. This drive to persevere and push through adversities is even found within the Gods. Many will have their own ideology and objective that they deign to achieve. Fortitude allows individuals to push past what is normally physically and mentally thought possible. Even simpler tasks such as learning the intricacies of a particular esoteric subject can be learned with enough perseverance and fortitude. A father may push past their limits of exhaustion to provide for their sick family. A swordsman may push himself beyond normally thought possible and live through a situation thought otherwise impossible. A young boy gaining the strength needed to protect his younger sister from a rabid wolf staring both of them down. Even the mere acts of witnessed fortitude and perseverance may ignite/reignite new and old passions within observers. Aletheseus is the embodiment of fortitude and perseverance. Even his mere presence has a small pull of re-igniting passion and drive. Persona Aletheseus is an enigmatic figure. His aspect is one that morphs emotion into passion and eventually drive- yet his expression is usually found to be solemn and unreadable, if you can even glimpse his face. As if struggling with a complex and insurmountable issue. Despite his apparent coldness, he is one of the most patient and loving gods. His love extends to his fellow gods and all beings. Though he has a specific liking towards humanity- while willing and able to commit monstrous acts against once another, they also have the capacity of great love, kindness, and fortitude. Sometimes even believing them to have a greater capacity than the gods. Beings with shorter lifespans (comparatively to ageless gods) intrigue him greatly. They are able to achieve much in their shorter lifespan and pass on their beliefs and teachings to their children. This has fostered and shaped his beliefs into one of that of 'Balance'. Beings that did not have challenge nor adversity became stagnant and complacent, lazy and willing to drown in their own pleasures. He found that beings challenged with the right amount of adversity were the ones who progressed. He found great pleasure in letting beings find their own way, sometimes with a small guiding hand. He has grown a dislike towards direct intervention and strives to avoid such actions unless necessary. He realizes that his mindset is naive and nigh-impossible mindset due to his fellow brothers and sisters. Aletheseus also has a dislike of being worshiped. He does not have any desire nor want to have beings kiss his feet and give him offerings or sacrifices, finding it too self-serving. If he were to have it, he'd disappear from the world entirely and be naught but a faint distant memory. He is a clear and ardent believer in free-will. Despite his undisguised dislike of some of his fellow brothers and sisters unwieldy need to intervene for their followers at every instance, he still harbours love for them and the Monarch. Even if he is viewed as a black sheep. He does butt-heads and have a strong dislike for gods who treat their followers as disposable. Aletheseus is headstrong about his personal beliefs, not one to back-down and is willing to debate his own beliefs about governance of mortal beings. Base form Aletheseus base form is simplistic, preferring to blend into the masses of whichever species he is 'visiting' at the time. Usually it's in the form of a humanoid hooded figure draped in endless tattered robes. He also tends to carry a walking stick. It is almost impossible to peek a glance at his face. The shadows seem unable to be snuffed out by light. He seems to prefer staying in this form than his true form. True Form

Should a mortal being somehow stand in his presence, they will subject to a drug-like effect that worsens the longer they stay in his presence. Leaving his presence induces near-immediate withdrawal like symptoms that lead to a painful and quick death.
