Although he's not exactly a monumentally powerful deity like some others, he is exactly the god you want to go for a plan. He can plan equally well for the short term or the long term. Ironically, his ability to plan and make things work out could be seen as a form of magic it'self, which is probably is. He's not just a smart guy, he's the god of Planning after all. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Shen Zhi Shu is the god of planning. He is a naturally great planner. In addition to this as I've mentioned, as the he creates plans, the plans he creates supernaturally warp reality to accomodate themselves. He can bless others or curse them as well for following or defying his plans. He doesn't even have to write a map or put much effort into his plans. As a god of planning he can easily come up with a very detailed, masterpiece of elaboration instantaneously.

That doesn't even go into the fact that he can plan not just for days, weeks, months, or even years, but many millenia in advance, and do so very effectively.

However, the limitations of planning are obvious. Plans are not instantaneously successful, no matter how elaborate or careful they are. They are all capable of being messed with.

[b]Persona[/b]
Shen Zhi Shu is a teacher. He wants to teach and mentor others without his wisdom with humility. He doesn't even really consider himself a deity all that much, just someone with greater gifts, AND responsibility than mortals. He hates the abuse of powers and gifts over others to dominate or bring harm to them. However he's not just a teacher of things like fighting, poetry, etcetera, he can teach others how to cope with or sometimes even escape the traps they've laid for their lives. Mistakes, or sometimes even outright evil can lead someone to seemingly inescapable trouble, but he is compassionate. 

Shen wants the world divided into large, well educated societies in both the intellectual and wisdom based ways. This is a kind of person who values knowledge, wisdom and education very highly. He knows the rewards of a well thought out, competently executed plan, and he would love for everyone to have the same kind of blessings he has in that way. These motivations are purely altruistic and benevolent.

A Chinese Golden Dragon. This dragon can breath lightning. His scales, bones and flesh are quite durable, and he can fly. In addition, Shen has a magical, golden aura surrounding him that makes it difficult for anyone gazing on him to make any plans that he disagrees with. Those who manage to create plans in the presence of Shen's true form are even unable to deviate from them after they've left his presence.
(Chinese dragons are a symbol of Imperial power, and the Dragon in the Chinese Zodiac are the most popular years to have children. Thus, the most auspicious children are thought to be be born under the "Dragon" signs.)
