Seeing Serena begin to cry in front of her pulled at Kay's heartstrings greatly. "Shh...it's okay" she told her softly, pulling her into her side more and rubbing her arm comfortingly. "please don't be sorry. I'm accepting that any time i leave a house I'm going to be in danger. I've lived with this risk for over two years now. I hate it, but I'm used to looking over my shoulder all the time. It just so happens that this time I wasn't looking around my surroundings and stupidly thought I was safe in Sam's backyard. But you've got nothing to be sorry for" she told her. "No one could have thought I'd have been in trouble out there taking some damn trash out. So please don't feel like you need to be sorry for anything" she added. Sam looked up at John as she saw him trying to eavesdrop on the conversation in the kitchen, making her discreetly smile slightly into her tea. "I'm sure Kay will tell you what needs to be said when they're done. But something just tells me Kay will know what to say when it comes to helping Serena" Sam told him.
