Yun Hana
Finally, Bermuda island. While the trip aboard one of the world’s premiere luxury airships was certainly not to be missed, it was good to have her feet on the ground again, and a chance to really stretch her legs. She used the tour as an opportunity to chat a bit with the other students in her group, and also learn the lay of the land. It was difficult for her not to be impressed by all the architecture on display. The place reminded her of an island sized world expo. All the global powers were represented somehow, along the way. Sadly, there was little opportunity to see the actual facilities where they’d be working as Polymaths, but it was still the first day. That curfew thing was definitely weird, more so for the reason. Expecting everyone to be indoors by 10:00 wasn’t unreasonable at all. Fog on or around the ocean wasn’t unusual either. But every night? That was either a lie, or something strange was going on to be that consistent. Maybe it had to do with the innumerable formulazations used to make the place? The adults living on their own was also a bit strange. Wouldn’t they at least have people to mind the dorms, or that sort of thing, present all the time? Perhaps it was just some cultural thing.
The Hall of the Greats
Hana took a while to make her appearance at the ball, having first stopped to change into a proper hanbok. It wasn’t necessary, but it certainly felt right to properly represent her own nation, especially if their hosts made it so easy to do. While she had her own objectives, it was perhaps too early to try and act on them. Plenty of time to get to work later, and besides, the sheer number of students in attendance would make finding any specific person a needle in a haystack. So, best to just enjoy herself, at least for a start. Hana spent her time mingling with the other students, snacking on the various food items available, and even on the occasional dance. Not that she was particularly good at the occidental dances the music clearly favored. It would have been nice if she didn’t come off as the sort of person who accidentally stepped on her partner’s feet, but she just played up the whole not knowing these foreign ways. Eventually, she did start looking for her needle in a haystack. Was that him over in that break in the crowd? Maybe, same hat, though that went for more than a few of the students. Whatever the case, maybe she could maneuver into a chance meeting here. Of course, she didn’t mean to literally bump right into him, that was all someone jostling her unexpectedly from behind in the crowd. “Ah! Sorry, I didn’t mean to run into you.”
[@liotrent] Or anyone else, really.
