Standing at 6'10" she towers over most crowds, ducking to enter most doorways, and in some buildings needing to stay hunched over to prevent her head from dragging against the ceiling. If she does happen to hit her head on the ceiling, she should be relatively safe. As she tends to be wearing heavy armor in and out of combat near all of her waking hours. Dressed in old, but well cared for chain mail, the armored half giant stands tall and imposing in any room. Kathryn is rarely someone to try and abuse this though, as to make others comfortable she tends to try and make herself seem smaller than she actually is. With little success. While wearing armor many people may have trouble telling if she is a man or a woman, as Kathryn puts little effort into appearing feminine while within her armor. In the few occasions where she may be out of armor in public, or around others, she can be seen wearing comfortable clothes. Or extremely over bundled. Though Kathryn is very protective of herself, and it shows in her posture, she also works to be polite to everyone around her. Giving everyone a chance to do the same for her. Despite wearing heavy armor most her waking hours, she will make an active effort to have her helmet removed when in conversation somewhere safe to keep good eye contact, and to appear as least threatening as possible to those she would call friends and allies. To add to this, the tall woman is more willing to put on a more hostile tone if it means someone who may not be able to do the same for themselves is safer. Kathryn is a child at heart. Optimistic about everything and everyone. Believing everyone deserves a chance or two so they can prove themselves to be their inner good. She views the world with wonder and amazement as if only seeing much of it for the first time. Curious to learn all of it's secretes, and to unlock all of the worlds massive potential! Viewing much of the world as if it was more wondrous and amazing than the last place she had been. This part of her struggles to poke through as it tries to pass the well disciplined and guarded exterior. The part of her that fears of letting her guard down just a little too much, and facing punishment for it. She is always ready to fight and defend herself, and the others around her. Despite the lingering fear and concern she struggles with, she doesn't let it get in the way of her optimistic nature. And she takes great deals to not have people think she is weary of them and ready to face them off. She will take steps to make herself as non-intimidating as possible though methods that make her appear smaller then she actually is. Sitting in chairs, leaning over furniture, or kneeling down to bring her eyes level with others in situations where that wouldn't be seen as offensive such as with a young child. But with all of this, her hands are always within a couple feet of a reachable weapon prepared for a fight. Kathryn is a young woman of 22 years of age. With a physical build that could pass as older than she was, and facial expressions that would imply the opposite should one not see the nearly seven feet of steel supporting the head. Her hair when it's not pinned out of the way, is long and braided, running down the length of her back in an attempt to keep it presentable, and out of the way. On rare occasions other than resting, she may let her hair fall loose, allowing it to spread out. Kathryn's pale skin when visible, tends to be slightly paler than most compared to her homeland, due to the lack of actual sunshine her body actually sees on a regular basis. Her eyes on the other hand, are as grey as a morning cloud over a mostly clear ocean. Bordering silver, they stand out for those who take notice. [End New]

Kathryn is the shield that protects those who can't protect themselves, those who are in need of assistance, and those who are willing to do the same for others. She will periodically put herself between a potential danger and those it may effect many times with little regard to her own personal safety. Several of Kathryn's more professional behaviors will come across as heavily rehearsed. Though not as a noble woman, but closer to a soldier who is addressing superiors, or a makeshift imitation of what someone may expect from a noble woman. In many ways Kathryn is much like a child. She is easily excitable, everything she sees and hears is a new adventure for her. When she first meets new people she will enter an environment as a quiet yet curious person who is mostly sitting back and looking around. When she gets herself comfortable she becomes extremely trusting, and all filters are thrown out the window. She can become a bit rowdy, loud, and very personable. Because of this it is rather easy to get on Kathryn's trusting and caring side and easy to stay there. Should that trust be betrayed it's considerably harder to get it back. Kathryn likes to see the best in people, but if that image is shattered it becomes a rather extreme challenge to get it back. Kathryn struggles with her own personal confidence issues. She does the best she can to come across as humble and to not come across as more important as anyone else, though she has a high confidence in her skills and is not afraid to voice it. Even if those skills are not always up to par with her standards. She struggles for the reassurances of others, and will go out of her way to please those around her.

Kathryn from a young age was never destined for much. Being the oldest child, she held importance to her family as it worked over its last hurdles to no longer be a minor house within the kingdom of Arcanaple. Being the oldest daughter, she was not destined to be the heir of this up and coming family. But to be married off to another more powerful family to give her family's recent war claims legitimacy, and hopefully boost her family up just a bit more. These relations came at a cost. Another noble family, one much older, and considered one of the most powerful outside of The Lord of Kings, was forced to give up territory that was given to Kathryn's family several generations past. Tensions would always flair, but as the family worked up the status ladder, Kathryn's father had decided to try and smooth things over with the rival house. Inviting them to the current years harvest fest when Kathryn was but a wee lass of nine, the family would find themselves wiped out to nearly the last couple members. Kathryn would survive, and shy of her uncle and some of his own staff, the whole household would be wiped out. Kathryn and her uncle would fight for months with the Lord of Kings for justice for the crimes, calling in every favor they could muster, spending what little was left of their wealth, only for it all to end when her uncle finally succumb to his injuries from decades of war, and the pressure of trying to preserve his household. Ser Lucas would take the young Kathryn and flee Arcanaple in desperate hopes to keep her safe from those who would do her harm, and those who would be indifferent to it such as The Lord of Kings. Though being nobility would help traverse the land, Kathryn's name would cause all sorts of unwanted attention for her and Ser Lucas. So she would pick up the name Pyke. A common name for lordlings who go adventuring from Arcanaple, both to mitigate fallout against their family should they mess up, and to keep privileges to a minimum. Making it easier for a young knight or lordling to make a name for themselves not tied to their family. Or in Kathryn's and few others cases, to hide from their shameful exile. Ser Lucas would spend most of Kathryn's life training her in the art of war. Despite his own limitations, Kathryn had a good foundation to start from and found herself picking up much of his teachings well. Though he would rarely let her participate in actual fighting. Only a few times in the name of self defense. Protecting herself and Ser Lucas from bandits, goblins, and in rare occasions optimistic mercenaries. By the time they found themselves at Avonshire, Kathryn had been on the road more than a dozen years, and more than half her life. Their hope was that Avonshire would be far enough away to avoid the influence of those who would benefit from their heads on a spike. Or far enough away that those same people thought they would never come back. All that was left, was to find work and housing and to figure out where to take things from there. A few days after arriving within Avonshire, Ser Lucas would pass from old age. Leaving Kathryn alone in a foreign land, and being buried far, far away from home. Finding herself on her own after burying her mentor, she would soon find herself an inn, and begin drinking away the savings the two had collected over the years. Until she would find herself coming across a strange letter for her former mentor. Though he had passed, and some of his contacts may have known where to find him, it was weird to find it now. A job, and Kathryn's chance to figure out what the hell she is supposed to do with her life. Taking her possessions, beer, and what will she had to face a new day, she charged off to the fort to take the job. Where she would meet the strangest group of adventurers she had ever met. Ones she hoped she could call friends.
