This is also the only way to recharge his next two abilities. The blindness lasts only a few minutes. [color=lightcoral][b]Dark Bolt:[/b][/color] Much like Mist Slash, but as a breath attack. It is not as damaging but has a far greater chance of temporarily blinding enemies. Blindness lasts a bit longer. [color=lightcoral][b]Shroud:[/b][/color] Balileo may breathe a large, dark cloud to envelope the arena. It typically has a radius of 100ft/30.5m and slowly damages anyone within like poison. It is incredibly thick and therefore difficult to disperse. It can also be blinding and its duration is the longest, lasting over an hour. Additionally, it takes the longest to recharge. This cloud goes away after a short period. [color=lightcoral][b]Shadow Creep:[/b][/color] If it is dark enough, or Balileo uses his dark mists, he can travel silently over long distances. He can only stay within the shadows/mists and if the mist is dispersed or the shadow fades, he will promptly reappear. [color=lightcoral][b]Ice Resistance:[/b][/color] Since Balileo is a Gaoler, a species of ancient dragons created by the Icewarden, he is naturally resistant to the cold. [color=red][b]Biography:[/b][/color] Balileo has not been alive for very long, but during his time on Earth so far, he has experienced a wealth of unfairness in the world. His parents were Athene and Transylvania, who are infamous for leaving their hatchlings for dead should they be considered “flawed” or “unappealing.” Since Balileo was the only hatchling of theirs that did not fit that category, he witnessed at a young age the subsequent abandoning of his three other siblings to the punishing outskirts of the Scarred Wasteland. He has not seen any of them yet, and it can be presumed they now serve a higher cause. After growing rather quickly into his mature form, as all dragons of Sornieth naturally do, Balileo was integrated into Gaoler society. Goalers were jailer breeds, who captured and sealed away Shade. These creatures were personifications of darkness that feed on magic, seeking to destroy their world as they know it. It was the Gaolers’ job to seal away any Shade as well as any entity not of their world they found forever so as to keep the world of dragons safe. Gaoler society has a hierarchy that determines what Gaolers are assigned to do in their adult life. Balileo accompanied his father as an assistant in training. His father was an Overseer, an order of Gaolers that contain the most dangerous Horrorbeasts and Shade. With Horrorbeasts being the strongest and most frightening form of Shade, containing them was difficult. And yet, when one did escape under their watch, it wasn’t the Horrorbeast’s doing. One fateful day, a legion of Banescales led by Jaldrid the Forsaken invaded the Gaoler’s hold. In the war between Ice and Fire hundreds of thousands of years ago, Banescales were nearly driven to extinction as the victorious Gaolers unknowingly sealed away what few surviving Banescale eggs were left. In Jaldrid’s fury, his legion began breaking seals left and right in hopes of freeing any other lost souls. As a result, hundreds of Shades rampaged through the Hold, wreaking absolute destruction in their path. At the climax of the chaos, a Horrorbeast seal was broken, and suddenly Sornieth was put under immediate danger. Just like that, the titan swallowed up dragons left and right, including Balileo and his father. This is where his story is left off at. The enemy will then become tired while Miraak is rejuvenated. However, to do all of this, the sword needs to be sufficiently charged with regular souls contained in soul gems. If it isn't it will simply be a normal sword with a high damage output until it is charged again. [color=lightgreen]An Assortment of Soul Gems:[/color] A random assortment of soul gems of different sizes. Though most of them are smaller, petty soul gems, a select portion is much larger. Many of the smaller gems are already filled with souls to charge Miraak's weapons. The majority of his larger gems are to be used to capture more threatening souls to keep for his own amusement, or until he runs out of smaller gems to charge his weapons, in which case he will use the larger ones to charge. When a soul gem is used, the gem is destroyed, and the soul cannot be recovered. If the gem is destroyed but is not used to charge a weapon, the soul is freed. Miraak's supply of soul gems is limited, and if he runs out, his weapons will lack their enchanted abilities. [color=lightgreen]Bend Will:[/color] The user can control the will of animals and weak-minded people temporarily, forcing them to aid the user for a short time. If the shout is used in full, the user can also bend the will of dragons to control and ride them. [color=lightgreen]Dragon Aspect:[/color] Having the longest cooldown of all the shouts, if used, the shout grants the user a set of ethereal dragon armor as their attacks, armor, and shout power are increased. Their shout cooldown is decreased and they become resistant to both frost and fire damage. This lasts for several minutes until the armor dissipates. [color=lightgreen]Become Ethereal:[/color] Gives the user a ghostly appearance for a few seconds as they gain temporary invincibility. If they attack while still in this state, it will abort the shout instead of completing its whole duration. [color=lightgreen]Cyclone:[/color] Much like Unrelenting Force, except it forces enemies upward and inflicts heavy fall damage on them unless they so happen to fly off in time. [color=lightgreen]Unrelenting Force:[/color] Staggers and pushes the enemy while doing minimal damage. Miraak's weakest yet most iconic shout. Can be blocked by a strong magical shield. [color=lightgreen]Wards:[/color] Miraak can cast magical shields ranging from lesser to greater. These shields only block magical damage, not physical ones. Takes time to charge before blocking. If Miraak is intercepted during this time, the ward attempt is canceled. [color=lightgreen]Lightning Bolts:[/color] Miraak can shoot electric arcs from his hands which not only deal significant damage but also drain the target of their magic. The drained magic is not absorbed by Miraak. [color=lightgreen]Restoration:[/color] Miraak can use basic healing spells to restore his health. [color=lightgreen]Soul Trap:[/color] Used to fill up his soul gems, Miraak will cast Soul Trap onto an enemy when attacking. Even with his prosthetic leg, the captain's running speed can be quite alarming! The problem is... Voss is still pretty old. Sometimes he hurts himself from hopping around so much. [color=pink][b]Cartoon Physics:[/b][/color] Though not incredibly exaggerated, Voss experiences some level of cartoon physics. That being, he can be stretched and bent far more than a typical human before breaking. This also aids him in being especially flexible. Great for dodging projectiles. [color=pink][b]Combat Experience:[/b][/color] Voss used to be a successful sea captain for the navy. So it would make sense that he knows a thing or two about war tactics and how to outsmart and outmaneuver the enemy. Though he is certainly out of his element here, Voss very well can walk the talk and show off a fair bit of battle prowess. [color=pink][b]Afflicted:[/b][/color] Voss, just like every member of the Phantom, is always connected to the Phantom Stone no matter how far away it may be. However, should the stone be close enough, (approx. 10 mi/16.1km) Voss will experience heightened aggression toward everyone as well as increased strength and pain tolerance. He will go out of his way to get closer to the stone. If the stone is within 1 mi/1.6km, these abilities are upped to the extremes, and Voss will become near-emotionless as the stone controls his behavior. Not to mention, but if any Phantom dies within the radius that allows the stone control, they can be revived... Albeit in a temporarily frailer and mindless form. [color=purple][b]Biography:[/b][/color] In his world, Voss happily served the Shell Island navy… That was until the Phantom first began making their rounds. After being promised endless riches and power under the organization, Voss committed treason and turned against his crew. The event cost him his leg, but the Phantom rewarded him graciously with medals, money, and an invitation to be a new sea captain for their navy, just as they promised. He served under them with devout loyalty until their fall years later. When the leader of the Phantom was captured, the Phantom Stone which gave him power became lost somewhere in the ocean. Former Phantoms were promptly deemed as terrorists, and many went into hiding. Voss avoided the main island he used to call home and instead spent most of his time sailing the ocean with his only surviving crewmate, Abbott Calderon. With Abbott’s (involuntarily) help, Voss began to feverishly comb the waters for the stone before any rival Neo-Phantom factions did. Sanford knows how to use nearly any weapon he picks up, and when he doesn’t, he has a damn good time experimenting with it. Specifically, Sanford is most experienced in melee weapons and explosives. [color=gray][b]Biography:[/b][/color] Even before he looked like he does today, Sanford was no regular grunt. With the help of his close ally Deimos, they both assisted Hank in his early days whenever push would come to shove. It was only after they were finally given time alone that they really managed to differentiate themselves from other grunts. In only a matter of a few episodes, Sanford became close to Deimos and Hank and considers them as family. However, in one of his latest adventures with Hank, Sanford found Deimos’ corpse as they fought against the Auditor. There was little time to mourn since Tricky quickly made things go even further south than they already were. But in the middle of the chaos when the duo was allowed a breather, Sanford’s mind began to crack from exhaustion. In ArcRift, Sanford is directly taken off from the end of Madness Combat 11 where the last thing he remembered was witnessing Hank defeat Tricky yet again before everyone became enveloped in a blinding light. Now covered in a mysterious black tar that was his blood, Sanford tries (and fails) to maintain his typical personality as he explores this new world. [color=orange][b]Personality:[/b][/color] A devout pacifist, Abbott refuses to harm others on purpose. Even on accident, Abbott has been known to apologize profusely long after the incident. In times of conflict, the ex-sailor will more often than not win battles not with violence, but with compassion. Abbott is also known for being fairly timid, shy, and just has a hard time saying "no” to others. Consequently, this has led him into being conscripted into the Phantom as well as being forced into assisting his ex-captain Voss Eierkuchen in his various misdeeds. As of late, Abbott has managed to assert himself enough to desert Voss and work independently. But Abbott still believes Voss’ behavior could still be reversed to his old self. Whether or not this will work has yet to be determined. [color=orange][b]Motivation:[/b][/color] To reverse the effects the Phantom had forced onto people, as well as help Voss return to normal life. Likely Osteon policy. Whatever is inside that device, Abbott is adamant about keeping it out of people's mitts. [color=yellow][b]Tattered Bandana:[/b][/color] A remnant from Abbott's past as a Phantom and before he left Voss. It has been partially torn and stained with motor oil. Abbott rarely mentions it, even though it is almost always visible on his waist. It is likely to mark his place among the Osteon. [color=yellow][b]Sunglasses:[/b][/color] A cool guy isn't complete without his cool shades. [color=orange][b]Attributes:[/b][/color] [color=yellow][b]Cartoon Physics:[/b][/color] Though not incredibly exaggerated, Abbott experiences some level of cartoon physics. That being, he can be stretched and bent far more than a typical human before breaking. This effect is seen more with Abbott than Voss, simply due to the latter's age. [color=yellow][b]Afflicted:[/b][/color] Abbott, just like every member of the Phantom, is always connected to the Phantom Stone no matter how far away it may be. However, should the stone be close enough, (approx. 10 mi/16.1km) Abbott will experience heightened aggression toward everyone as well as increased strength and pain tolerance. He will go out of his way to get closer to the stone. If the stone is within 1 mi/1.6km, these abilities are upped to the extremes, and Abbott will become near-emotionless as the stone controls his behavior. Even with his dovish personality considered, Abbott will not be able to resist the stone. Beware. [color=orange][b]Biography:[/b][/color] Abbott was very young when the Phantom began to invade his home Shell Island. Like many citizens who hadn't fled or went through a fate that was more merciful than this, Abbott was forcibly drafted into the organization through brainwashing which had permanently altered his mind. Where those who abandoned their passive nature for war, however, Abbott somehow maintained his peaceful attitude, much to the dismay of his officers. When Abbott was placed within the Phantom's navy, he was assigned his own sea captain to follow. That captain was Voss Eierkuchen, who had already been serving the organization for next to a year. The pacifist was immediately put in the bottom of his crew's hierarchy, as Voss took Abbott's arrival as the Phantom gifting the captain a free punching bag. Things would remain unchanged until several years later when the organization finally fell and all but one of Voss’ crewmates were either killed or captured. That surviving sailor being Abbott, of course. His avoidance of conflict in general kept him alive. As much as Voss dreaded to do so, the old man promoted Abbott to First Mate. It was from here that the duo stayed together for a while. It was during this time period that Voss used Abbott as a spy to steal information from rival neo-Phantom gangs in regards to the location of the Phantom Stone. Voss refused to let Abbott leave, as he knew he needed another pair of hands for his search. When the pair were sucked into their first multiverse adventure, Abbott eventually deserted Voss once their relationship had reached a boiling point. Voss was more than happy to abandon Abbott, which discouraged the young man quite a bit. But upon returning home and splitting paths, Abbott met the Osteons - an underground group that focuses on rehabilitating ex-Phantoms and returning them to everyday life. He devoted most of his time there, where climbed up the ranks and became a highly recognized member. Now, Abbott willingly travels worlds in search of Voss. He believes that even the most troublesome Phantoms such as his old captain could be turned around like with so many members he helped. But when Abbott's ex-captain views him as nothing more than vermin and even his own teammates doubt his success and fear his safety, one begins to wonder if Voss’ manipulation continues to affect Abbott into believing something so inconceivable. If Abbott succeeds, this could help the Osteons prove to the denizens of Shell Island that their treatment could be trusted and that [i]they[/i] could be trusted. If not… Abbott prefers not to think about that alternate scenario.
