Born amongst the many vassel warriors of the Emperor Okubo was taught in the ways of war from an early age be it training in weapons to learning the history of Wa from beginning to end. Life was a rigerous routine filled with drilling loyalty and teaching about honor through displine and he grew into a fine samurai. By the early age of eighteen he was sent as a courtier to the other lords and a commander on the battlefield. He spent many years under a neighboring lord who was particularly cruel and unforgiving to his subject but honor, however, dictated that he follow his lords command to the letter. In the province samurai's were seen as bullies and less than common thugs due to the disposition of their lord and thus they came to fear Okubo in kind. He was good at his job essentially running what would be the city guard in the capital and punishing those responsible. One day, on behalf of his lord, he was tasked with the apprehinsion of an individual. This would be the beginning of the end. Upon further investigation this man was a noble that was in direct oppisition to the lord and he was brought in to give swift "justice" to his compettitor. On the day that was supposed to be his execution Okubo brought his katana to through his swing but could not bring himself to finish the swing. The lord roared in command but his words fell on deaf ears, Okubo refused an order. As the lord sentenced him to be put to death his father, who happened to be visiting to improve relations, chose to die in his place. Okubo was banished from Wa to never return. Okubo spent the last several years wandering the Realms and found himself in the Silver Marches. He heard about the town of Deadsnows and decided that if he was going to be a wander in this world he would need to occupy himself some how.

: Okubo is a very quiet individual prefering the silence of the world around him than the noisy world of people. He is very intense in his observations and both judges and acts upon what he sees often giving him the apperance that he is flippant or indecisive of others. When he finally does interact with people it is often met with his hand on the hilt of his sword due to his general distrust in the other sentient races. There is a deep sadness within him, he holds a heavy burden due to the events of his past and harbors unresolved issues about the death of his father. In this regard, Okubo defenitly has tendencies to due good and the desire to be a good man but his rigerous training about how honor and disipline causes him to surpress these tendensies for they are what got his father killed.
