Hello Old Friends!
[@Birdboy][@ouTland01][@Wayward][@Alisdragon911][@jeroukoo] I'm considering rebooting the "Pokemon: Earth" roleplay, and adding a lot of new stuff, while at the same time, simplifying things! I'll go ahead and dive into the changes. Then, if you like what you see, let me know! The plotline is still the same, a parallel Earth where Pokemon are real. Only, we will be skipping 81 years into the future (from 2019 to 2100). So yes, if your character from the old RP was 30, and you want to bring them back, they will now be 111 years old. But hear's the kicker! In the year 2024 advancements in medicine were able to cut the natural aging process in half, and by 2050 this technology had progressed so that people only age at 10% the rate they used to. With this in mind, your 111 year old character would actually look around 50, give or take a few years, depending on how you took care of yourself over the years. In other words, characters from the old RP could now just look like middle aged men/women, despite being around a 100 years old, and of course, they would all be expert trainers by now. As for game mechanics, it used to be that battles were either free form (flavor text only) or done through Pokemon Showdown. Now, I'd like to throw in a third option. With some basic math and help from Bulbapedia, I can assign your Pokemon's power level, based off their total stats and their current level, then adjust this for any type advantages and disadvantages that your Pokemon may have against it's opponent. I do this for both Pokemon, to get a static number to roll, using this site's dice roll mechanic, so that everyone can see. Whoever wins the roll, wins the battle. There's a little more to it than that, but those are the basics. Also, I can use a similar system for Pokemon contests, races, and much more. And finally, for those interested in the Gym challenge, we will only have the 18 gyms shown on the map. You can take on these gyms in any order, and their difficulty will be adjusted, equal to how many badges you have claimed up to that point.
What do you all think? Questions? Concerns?
