2857, May 25th, New Altaia, Liliane's Sky Cathedral
One of Five massive Floating City Fortresses, The Cathedral, as it is commonly known, has been scouting the world searching for new lands to settle for 80 years. It has recently broken out in a civil war. What was once a peaceful and productive part of New Altaia has degraded into a breeding place of chaos and usurpers. The city itself is lain out in such a way as to maximize production, so to insure the survival and prosperity of its passengers. The city is shaped like a massive hexagon, with towering walls separating and dividing the people into districts and classes. The Following Diagram lays out the cities set up, it does not include the Lower Sanctum, which will be covered later in the OP:

The Outer Sanctum: Districts: The Water District This District uses the heat produced by the Phoenix hex to boil rainwater, that is then sent out to the rest of the ship. This is the most valued of the districts, for it is the only one that actively produces water for the other districts. Surprisingly this district was one of the first to turn against the military. The kind hearted people of this district could not stand to hear of the military's brash actions in the Fire district, and they were quick to join the cause. This district did not have much to offer the rebellion in the form of military however, and they were soon overlooked as insignificant to the cause. As tensions build, the district becomes less and less sure of the morality behind the rebellions cause. Many anti rebel rumors have began spreading. Specifically regarding the treatment of the flight District. A counter Rebel force may be forming here, and that frightens the Rebel leaders of the fire district. Flight District This District Covered the training of Pegasus riders and their mounts. The following document shows a Pegasus rider flying through the flight district: This district was the last to come under rebel control. It was invaded by its neighbors. The citizens of this district are the made up mostly of the loved ones of military troops. Wives, children, and now orphans, and widows, all have been force-ably brought under Rebel rule. The true nature of the Rebels is shown most here. The Contradiction is blatant. Rebel troops in this area openly oppress and degrade all military and ex military currently resided here. Here the pain of war is most apparent. Food is scarce, disease has almost completely taken over, and the once beautiful Pegasus flying over head have been taken away from them for the good of the Rebellion. Pegasus riders are still being trained here, but the once bustling and lively district that stood here has been replaced by a muddied district of sour thoughts and missing loved ones. The Machiner's District (Known commonly as Tinkerton) Acredtited to Cartwright:This district was a district that focused primarily on education and research. There were monasteries, labs, and churches scattered about the district with their own beliefs and studies. It was in a sense for the more intelligent people who focused on improving the livelihood of those in the outer sanctum. They weren't the military's favorite district but they weren't the most crime ridden districts around. It was somewhat clean and those who lived in the district were more pacifist than other districts. The culture varies but when it boils down to it everyone believed in the humanistic values, the potential and power of one man. That empowers many people to do what they do: find ways to make Hex more safe and useful, or develop medical practices to save lives, or even stare up at the sky and wonder why the big fireball up there still moves. The researchers, historians, priests, and traders seem to get along in the district. The only problem is when people begin disagreeing with one another on religion and science. They all were united, though, willing to reach as far as the curious eye can see. When the civil war broke out many of those who were known Hex researchers were torn away from families and forced into house arrest by the military. They were forced to create weapons and nonlethal substitutes for the military as well as investigate the Hex more deeply, making risky tests that could put their lives on the line. The other groups weren't so fortunate as well, they were forced into a curfew which they obeyed until the word went around that people were actually being killed by military soldiers for holding to their beliefs. The pacifist population became defensive, although they looked for peace they knew very well it was not worth appeasement. That was the day when they rose up against the soldiers. There were many attempts at trying to find immortality and immunity to aging. Many researchers have tried and failed only to have their dream of making that power come true. It was unknown if anyone was even close to pointing to the right direction, but it will be more difficult to find out since war has interrupted the flow of knowledge within the district The Fire District This District is charged with the literal production of flame. Seven large boilers are kept running day in and day out. The constant need for heat to stabilize the phoenix hex has taken its toll on this district most. It was here that talk of rebellion first started, this being the most militaristic and oppressed area of the outer sanctum. The rough and working life style of the people here has left them as strong able bodied workers. Rebels from this district have been named 'Ragers', and for good reason too. The hatred they feel in their hearts for the military and the residents of the inner sanctum burns brighter than any flame. True warriors are made here. This is a place of strength, where the weak are shunned, and the strong find glory. The Carpenter's District This District is responsible for any finished products (Couch's, houses, jewelry) as well as their distribution. This district resembles one massive construction yard, with some houses checker boarded throughout. This district is much like the fire district, yet tamer. It took quite a bit longer for them to join the rebel movement. The level headed men and women of this district make great strategists. Years of training with diagrams and blueprints have allowed them to be able to quickly map out the entire city and organize the passing on of information in their district. This is arguably the most threatening district to the Military, simply because of their uncanny ability to organize their forces. The Farmer's District This district is a massive artificial farm land and it is responsible for the production and distribution of all food resources. One of the last districts to turn against the military, The Farmer's district was the most valuable of the districts under military control. Many farm owners were bribed to stop sending goods to the rebel Districts. This worked for a time, but the sheer number of farmers being controlled by the few contacts the military had here soon became to much to reign down. The military was forced to pull out in a mass uprising of discontented farmers. The farmers of this district are tough as nails, but not overly intelligent. They find true strength in numbers, and are the most populated of the districts. Currently the Farmers district is a place of chaos and revelry. Crime has spiked and crops are being neglected. If this trend continues, they will soon crumble under their own weight. The Thieves Guild Based within the Carpenter's District, this secretive guild is rumored to have connections in both the resistance and the military. The Inner Sanctum Home to the Military Headquarters, Training grounds, Barracks, and the Spire of the Heavens. This area is the last military controlled zone, however it was initially built to be self sufficient; so the military has simply shut themselves in, biding their time for when the resistance is weakest. The Lower Sanctum This is the underbelly of the ship, most of which is filled by the massive phoenix hex that spans the entirety of the ship. Above it is a maze of corridors and boiler rooms that keep the fires going. The Phoenix hex is the only hex capable of being powered through a means other than mana. That means is fire, And perhaps this fact is the secret to finding the secret entrance to this dark place. Many military secrets are held here, and some may be best left undiscovered... The War As previously mentioned the ship has broken out into civil war in the past months. The Resistance is comprised of the people that reside in the outer sanctum, fed up with mistreatment and unfair enforcement, they lashed out. So far the campaign as been successful, but a seemingly insurmountable barrier has been raised. The Inner Sanctum has been completely shut off from the outer. The resistance lacks leadership, and is losing heart. All while the military sits back and watches. It is time for leaders to arise, for secrets to be uncovered.
Throughout both The Cathedral and the world below are mysterious artifacts known as hexes, no one know the origin of these devices, but the power they hold has been known to topple entire era's.
The hex is a smooth, six sided, and hexagonal device that allows a creature to tap into an otherwise benign force within them known as mana. Mana is held within the mana pool, it works much like a muscle, the more it is used the larger and stronger it becomes, allowing for longer and higher usage. Hexes use this 'Mana' to effect the world around the wielder in unique ways. with uses varying from increasing your cooking skill, to blowing up planets, hexes are extremely useful, and valuable, with even the weakest catching ridiculously high prices. Hexes can be used to imbue items with certain properties. The item must meet two requirements before being able to be used however; 1: It will have to be capable of withstanding the effect of the hex (IE: a wooden sword imbued with a hex of fire... you get the point.) 2: The item will have to have a hex slot. Hex slots are of the exact dimensions of the hexes themselves and can take in a hex as long as one is not already present. Hexes vary in size as much as they do in effect and strength. The largest hex known is the phoenix hex, which spans the entire underside of Liliane's cathedral.
The Military Government As of the year 2839, The Cathedral's Government became a Militarily based Religious Sect. Lead by the Mysterious Captain, who oversees the cities workings from the Mysterious Tower of the Heavens. Only Two individuals may speak Directly too the Captain. They are then Trusted to relay all information to the Military, who then handle the discipline and obedience of the populace. This rigged System is the main cause for the current civil war.
Accepted players: AnriuSB Cartwright Helter Skelter 13sparx13 Races:
Keeton/Kitsune: The Kitsune are a race of fox like creature's that are seemingly ageless. They live in secluded villages and steer clear of almost all outside interaction. Any but the most experienced adventurers would show surprise at sighting one. These creatures are believed by most to be simply legend, but in truth they are all too real, and are forced to conceal their identities for fear of poachers after their highly valued fur. The Kitsune aging process is extremely similar to that of a caterpillar, the only difference being that they can enter the cocoon state multiple times. What triggers this event is completely unknown and it can happen anywhere from every one to two years, too every one or two weeks. When born the Kitsune has but a single fox tail, none of its racial powers are present and it looks completely like a newborn human child other than the fox ears and tail as well as slightly sharper teeth. The Kitsune does not age naturally, instead it enters a cocoon state 5 to seven years after birth and emerges looking like a 9 to 13 year old human child with three fox tails (usually white tipped). The second Cocoon state usually happens around the age of twenty and causes the Keeton to emerge as a young adult (19-24) with beautiful features and six tails. The Cocooning process then repeats randomly for the rest of the Keeton's life (250-300 years) the Keeton does not age physically from this point but each time exits cocooning with three more tails. The number of tails a Keeton has determines how many and how often a Keeton can use his/her abilities. Usually dependent on moon cycles. Abilities: A keeton can turn invisible for ten minutes every moon cycle for each six tail set it has. This invisibility can be spread over multiple instances or used all at once. once the used up the Keeton will have to wait the full moon cycle in order to regain the power. Each day a Keeton can levatate for 25 minutes for each set of three tails it has. Each moon cycle a keeton can teleport 10 meters for each 3 tails it has. A Keeton with 21 or more tails can summon a fox spirit for twenty minutes every moon cycle A Keeton with 60 or more tails can leave its own body for an hour every moon cycle it cannot physically affect the world however it can observe and move through all physical objects. A Keeton with 120 or more tails can activate the wrath of the Goddess every moon cycle, enabling the keeton to summon 99 fox spirits to assault enemies for a time. (Ultimate Keeton ability) Keeton examply pic: Other: Keeton's are elegant creatures when seen from afar, yet when taken a closer look they are playful and mischievous, often delving into the problems of other races without much forethought. Keeton are very shy however and are easily scared off. It is said that to gain the good will of a Keeton is to gain a life of good luck.

Elden: The oldest known race to date, Elden are the closest living creatures to death and have been coined with the derogatory title 'Undead' as a result. Elden seem to be regular humans, but have a secret that can only be sen by other Elden. An Elden's Soul is held outside of their body. The soul of an Elden is usually a feral, and protective beast, that will lash out on those who try to physically harm the Elden. The Elden itself has no control over its soul. Making them effective but volatile fighters. An Elden's soul is completely instinctual and will not speak to the Elden in anyway. The souls appearance is dependent on the Elden's personality. The soul cannot be seen by non Elden until the soul has become enraged, this happens when the Elden it is attached to takes some degree of physical harm. The amount is dependent on the soul's nature. The soul has no powers, it is simply a large body with extremely high physical strength. It usually holds some sort of weapon. The Elden can be seen often holding said weapon when the soul is docile. The soul can unleash a high pitched shriek that Elden are immune too upon it entering a state of rage. This shriek deafens those who hear for 3 to 9 minutes. It acts in the same way a a flash bang grenade without the flash. He has crimson red eyes along with light patches of fur allover his body serving as scars from old injuries. His torso is wrapped in bandages which is concealed under his clothing and armor, the bandages stained in his blood which seems to have dried up over time. There is also a bandanna tied around his neck which could be adjusted to be used as an improvised mask if the situation calls for it. A pistol is strapped to his right side(Which is useless without a hex as mentioned in the information section) and a sword strapped to his left. The sword is made of steel and has inscriptions etched on the blade near the hilt. In his jacket a white rag could been sticking out of his pocket, an observant eye can see the blood that it has collected over a period of time. To his right side is a single strap pack that contains bandage rolls, a empty canteen, a sharpening stone, spare cloth and rags, and a journal which holds a vast amount of information about his research. There is enough room to carry a few more things in the event he comes across something that catches his eye. His appearance and clothing is pretty much the image that I have uncovered for those who which to look into a image to help them with the appearance. Personality: The Lucresian is a creature with an observant eye for everything. He always wants to solve problems and be the one who to answer his own questions. His friends though are his top priority over his research. When it comes down to it he refuses to let his research turn him into something that would sacrifice everything for a discovery, but with his life almost taken away from him once and the war seeming to never end, things could change along with priorities. In other scenarios not involving his research, Galvin is a person of a more friendly aspect. He is the type of person who wants to help those in need of it even if it means going to extreme bounds that could endanger himself. While willing to risk his own life, he is cautious and mindful about the safety of his comrades. From taking watch all night to holding a friend back from doing something crazy he is the man who fits that role, the'big brother' role even though he can be very hypocritical himself since he can get reckless as well. History: Galvin Artan'an was a philosopher and scientist in the studies of magic and technologies. He has like every other person come across his groundbreaking discoveries along with his utter failures. Some instances have given him minor injuries during his experiments, most of them involving the usage of Hex. He has, though come out strong with a few safety practices followed by later on with devices which were used in the industrial market. When the civil war broke out the military contained Galvin for their effort. He was held under house arrest to create weapons and crowd control equipment to help them with their attempt to quell the riot. Overtime, he started to be more and more reluctant to make weapons to the point they decided he was no longer a necessary asset for their cause. On the night of his arrest an explosion occurred, killing the arresting soldiers and almost killing the researcher if it weren't for some stranger who took him in. After that night many things were left in that fire even his cooperation with the military. To the higher ups he was expected to have been killed that night with the other unfortunate soldiers who were sent to arrest him. Yet he survived, keeping hidden for now while aiding the resistance from medical practices to continuing his research. The explosion had left a small fragment in his chest as a result of his near death experience. It has a painful presence and can prove to be a problem in the future. He well be damned if he let his injury stop him regardless of it's dangerous side effects. Gear: Pistol without a hex in it's slot, sword with the same condition as pistol when it comes to Hex slots, Galvin also has bandage rolls, his notebook, a feather pen and ink well, he wears armor to help protect himself but it is very light to not hinder his need to be quick. Abilities/Strenghts/Weaknesses: Swordplay:Over the period of his military days Galvin was self taught how to fight with a sword to fend off those who would try and attack him. With the aid of a mentor he has become a skilled swordsman, but not a master. Hex research: As a philosopher and a scientist the Lucresian has developed his skill in magic with the dependency of Hex items. If he can get his hands on such a thing from the military he can utilize it to his limit in combat, minor healing, and other tasks. This will become more advanced as he continues his research. Medical experience: Herbal medicines and first aid were the first things he learned in his research to make magical creations. He kept such lessons in heart for the moment he would need them or someone else would. Sensitivity: His ears and tail are sensitive, a grab can make him angry and nervous, but purposeful inflictions such as stomping or yanking can paralyze and significantly harm him, endangering himself in any battle. Speed, wits, and agility: These three aspects are his weapon. Strength is not his specialty, it is just something he wasn't able to develop due to his focus on other fields. A skilled soldier or even a person above average strength could easily overpower him if they got past his sword. Critical injury: The explosion that he survived has lodged shrapnel into his chest, until that wound is more properly treated he is always in pain. He manages to hide it, but in situations where he is strained he coughs out a significant amount of blood which he hides in a rag stuffed in his pockets. This would be a risky operation if someone where to treat it, even Galvin himself believes it would be safer to keep the piece of shrapnel in instead of risking accidentally puncturing his heart or lungs trying to remove it. It would take a lot of trust for him to let someone take that chance let alone confess his injury to anyone. Other: When he makes a discover people would notice it. He would be celebrating and in high spirits, even tip back a few bottles of alcohol. Name: Xero Leegot Race: Lucresian (Yaay) Age: 21 Physical Description: Image for Reference. ((Will change when conditions do)) Currently without a shirt, exposing a series of newly made cuts on his chest and stomach along with a series of wounds that were caused by a whip to his back, Xero's wrists are bruised and he has a scar on his right eyes but not on the eye itself. His fur is ruffled and rugged and there is a prisoner marking burnt onto the collar region of his chest. Personality: At this time he seems weak and broken. Until he can see freedom the Lucresian keeps his actual personality bottled up to avoid any further trouble. Deep inside he is the kind of person who seeks to help people and save lives. Xero is an open hearted fellow who usually reaches out to anyone in need. When it comes to those who are purely evil and thrive for making others suffer, he will stand between the evil entity and those he fights for even if he is at a major disadvantage. He looks up to Galvin and takes every word at heart as his student. That professor is probably the only thing Xero would never go against, even if the professor makes a decision he doesn't like such as the times Galvin had instructed him to stay out of trouble. There are others who have this kind of trust from Xero, and there are defiantly more available seats in that section. History: Xero Leegot was both an assistant and an apprentice of Galvin during their time together. He was the professor's most trusted person and he kept up to that title, helping him with even the most dangerous of researches. At times the apprentice would be the one who would have to drag his injured professor to a doctor when an accident occurs during an experiment, yet he didn't seem to be bothered by that responsibility. They shared the successes, failures, and burdens throughout their period together, especially when the civil war struck their district. He remembered the exhausting days and nights following Galvin and doing what was needed from him. One night they had a long conversation, and made their final decision to stop their research. On the night of the explosion, Xero was the one who dragged his mentor out of the flames. He had a window of ten minutes to hide the injured Lucresian while being wounded in the eye himself. The explosion caused shrapnel to slice into his eye, but he conveniently was closing his eye shut when the cut came across him, leaving behind a diagonal slash that blinded him for the night. After hiding and entrusting a stranger to look after the unconscious researcher, the apprentice tried to get medical supplies from their burning home, emerging from the flames to meet a squad of soldiers who came to investigate the flames. He was arrested and imprisoned for the destruction and death of the explosion regardless if he was responsible or not. During multiple interrogation sessions he convinced the officers two things: 1, Galvin Artan'an is dead and 2, There was no resisting party involved. Days of torture and captivity followed, the most common technique used on him was what he called the 'surprise pin down and slice up' technique. He is in the darkness, wondering if there will ever be a light to guide him out of his captivity. Gear: *Currently Confiscated* Satchel full of medical supplies, telescope, bandage rolls, wrench, sword, Abilities/Strengths/Weaknesses: He have the same strength and weaknesses as Galvin when it comes to: Speed, agility, sensitivity, medical training, swordplay, and hex research. The apprentice, though is not as experienced in Hex manipulation as his mentor is, but he is better at swordplay, having more time with the instructor to learn than Galvin. Torture burden: Xero is suffering significantly from a series of torture sessions administered on him due to his punishment. His condition will slowly improve but at this time he is sapped of his energy and strength. He can barely walk straight let alone pull himself to his feet.

Name: Sven Garter Race: Human Age: 27 Home District: Farmer's District Physical Description: Sven stands at six feet even, due to years of manual labor his rather large physique is well toned with extremely developed musculature and a mildly dark complexion from extended periods spent under the sun over the course of years. His face is square shaped with short, buzz cut brown hair highlighted by lighter strands that border on blonde, his eyes are a deep blue that possess an unnatural shine to them accentuating his strong jaw-line. His torso and back are covered in various scars from numerous on the job accidents with a few covering the length of his arms. He has broad shoulders, long muscular arms with slightly larger than average hands with slender fingers that possess incredble tensile strength, and long well built legs. In terms of clothing he generally goes about his day in his work related attire, a loose fitting or baggy white tank that hangs a bit past his waist, a pair of fitted blue breeches with a yellow scarf tied off at the waist, and a pair of worn heavy leather boots. He usually wears a pair of fingerless black gloves, but sometimes opts for a red and black band around his right wrist. Personality: Determination, perseverance, and a smidgen of cockiness are the main highlights of Sven's character as demonstrated many times throughout his life. He is not the type of person to do anything on a whim rather any action he takes is solely for himself, whether it benefits someone else or not doesn't matter to him; Some notable accounts of this are before the war started when he would pick fights with lowlife soldiers, not because they would harass the general populace, but due to the fact that it just happened to annoy him and it was the only way he could think to shut them up which to anyone besides himself would take as a selfless act to help a stranger in need. Once he sets his mind to a task there is little anyone can do to change his mind and whether or not this is a bad thing has yet to be determined, he has always been charismatic having no problem socializing with others making him appear trustworthy, and has a fondness for cracking jokes in highly volatile situations. History: Raised in the Farmer's District and expected to follow in the foot steps of his predecessors Sven was raised to be a hard worker, unlike his father he was born with a 'black thumb' in the sense that any type of plants he attempted to care for withered away with a touch. However, he found his calling in fixing the machinery used to tend to the farmland and crops which is what lead to his position as Engineer in the bowels of the New Altaia repairing war machines and the occasional boiler. In time he was assigned as 'Head Engineer', a title given to make the little people feel important than to denote extreme significance over their peers, with an occasional visit to the inner sanctum to toy around with existing machines in an attempt to improve them. Sven never really got along with his superiors which might account for the fact that he was instructed to tend to the lower levels of the Cathedral before it was locked down trapping the majority of the city's mechanics. As of now he is unhappily cooperating with his colleagues in an escape plan that has spanned two months of idle thumb twiddling and another few of nothing but whining about how hot and hungry everyone is. Gear Weapons: Laborer's Hammer - A sledgehammer that is four feet in length with a steel head one and three quarter feet wide by one foot tall with a two and a half foot thickness. Before the war it was used purely for construction and driving spikes, but is now used to bash in the heads of soldiers. Due to its size and weight it is unwieldy to all, but those that possess above average strength. Armor: Salamander Sash - A bright yellow accessory that possesses an innate resistance to fire improving the wearer's tolerance to high temperatures. It has a single hex slot located on one of its tail ends. Equipment: Rebel Brace - A black and red wrist band that possesses no notable traits aside from a single hex slot. Strengths: Tinkerer - Given his overall size and form, Sven is a natural when it comes to repairing things even with minimal knowledge of what he is working on, which might be why he was assigned to work in the bowels of the fortress. Not only that, but given a schematic, the necessary materials, and some time to himself and he can create just about anything... now whether or not it explodes and if that was its intended purpose or not are sort of a possibility, but hey as long as it looks cool amiright? Weaknesses: Six Sided - Sven has a minor addiction to a new drug that has just recently begun to circulate around New Altaia; Use of the drug sends the user into a euphoric state that drowns out images of death and destruction, but after ending leaves their perception of reality slightly altered, few instances exist where the user's emotions are suppressed in addition entering a blind rage. When withdrawing the user experiences hallucinations, loss of vision, and instability of movement. Each dose increases the duration and chance of the mentioned side effects, while decreasing in effectiveness with each subsequent dosage. Other: N/A

Full Name: Mikhaeloneird Yther Ignfiaer Gryff Age: 24 Gender: Male Species: Human Appearance: Average in strength, height, etc... Mediumish long hair (The length that goes about to the bottom of your nose), black in colour. Eyes are a light purple. Carries a black leather messenger bag. Personality: Actually a pretty nice person, just doesn't like government. Or people, really. History: Grew up on the street, but managed to learn how to pickpocket exceedingly well, giving him a decent enough amount of money to have an actual house/apartment/whatever they have there. From that point, he managed to get an actual "legitimate" job running errands for the resistance. Hex: His hex allows him to expand his bag's capacity and also allows him to draw attention away from himself. Strengths: Excellent pickpocket, quick on his feet. Weaknesses: Horrible at fighting, and is occasionally clumsy.1: No hex, sorry, I did say in the OP no one can start with those. Guess I misinterpreted that sentence. :P 2: Go a little more indepth into his past. I left the background slightly ambiguous because I don't have very much of the world's history, but I'll do what I can. Mikhael's parents died when he was young, and he was left on the streets, alone. Soon after, he met someone named Chid, and they soon became close friends. Chid died after getting a disease which could not be cured for the meager money one made from pickpocketing. After that, Mikhael had no other friends, due to now being afraid to lose something he cares so much for. Did he have a family? Does he still have one? As I stated, Mikhael grew up on the street, which is because he is an orphan. Where is he now? Also previously stated: He lives in a normal, if rather cheap, home (Whatever their homes are. I don't know if they have apartments, separate buildings, or what.). Is he involved in any organized crime syndicates? Outside of his carrier business with the Rebels, Mikhael really doesn't do much, so no. Any other info that helps build his character? Not really. You may want to check out the original RP character he was based on, I guess. You can find that at /r/13sparx13[1] .
