He is a little uptight but at the end of the day, he is just as tired of the stress of this world as anyone. He has cultivated a healthy amount of skepticism from what he has witnessed and what he has caused. He is a bit of a risk-taker, although he does try to either tip things in his favor or mitigate the risks. He believes that change to the system is what is deeply needed and if he needs to roll a few dozen more heads he will.Getting new Joker vibes One of his softer spots is his son, Tarak. The Jones family dates back to the beginning of the viral outbreak where Fredrick's great grandfather, Wyatt Jones, was a well-regarded researcher, philosopher, and professor. Wyatt was 43 years of age when the virus broke out. He and his wife, Madeline Jones, were able to survive the beginning of the apocalypse. How They survived wasn't shared with Fredrick but if he had to assume it had to do with other stories of him being an "accomplished" hunter judging by the ivory Grandpa killed off the last rhino.that still adorns his old study. Wyatt's more significant contribution to this new society was that he worked as a council member. He represented the Keepers and was the dean of the school that had brought up. Madeline oversaw the library and together they had a powerful grasp on education. Together they pushed the idea that an educated workforce was the key to humanity's survival and eventually prosperity. Their impact is still visible as most of the society is still literate and has some form of education. Shortly after becoming a council member, Wyatt and Madeline gave birth to their first child, Marco Jones. Marco Jones more continued his father's legacy including having his own stint on the council. His time as a council member came as people were looking for a different leader for the keepers as the one that succeeded Wyatt turned out to be corrupt and have some shady ties with the underhanded type. Marco would turn out to be a much more effective leader and his natural charisma led to an out of nowhere upset and put the Jones family back in power. But Marco saw this overwhelming positive public consensus in the Jones family and create a lasting desire to see the Jones on the council. To do this Marco pushed for strong policies that directly benefited both the Keepers and Wakers. He knew that if he could make the life of Wakers better then when their children get educated they would grow into adults that in general favored these policies. To make sure of this he helped groom his younger sister, Amber Jones, to be a tactful politician. When he was getting older he did his best to rally support for his sister and was able to narrowly get the seat. Marco retired to being the dean of the school, personally helping out families that he could out of his own self-interests and his genuine preference to help out. At the same time, he had started to raise his son to be the next leader in the Jones family line. Amber Jones was a filler in some ways but she essentially came out with policies that help maintain the comfort that people had and did her best to not mess it up. Because she couldn't do certain actions like her brother instead she tried to create herself as a decisive vote that wouldn't vote for things that hurt the Keepers or Wakers. Her impact on society as a whole wasn't too much but what she did do is help solidify further that the Jones were sensible leaders and to be trusted. Marco had raised his son, Phill Jones, to be a powerful politician. Phill's life was as luxurious as you could imagine for the time. Most wouldn't raise a hand to him out of fear that his family held. Phill was not a bad child, he was just average. He was easily coerced into doing things against the standard morals that his father tried to instill in him. He was by all manners a poor candidate to be a council member but the public support for the Jones made it possible for even someone like him to win. Since he was trained from a young age his ability to invigorate a crowd and control conversation led to him being very effective in dealings. But the life that was promised to him by his late father was anything but. His control wasn't absolute, his power was limited and he would have rather been in control of the people with guns. He became greedy classicand started to use his power to gather personal wealth. If it stopped there it would have been forgivable but he went further and started to get involved with some of the true underbelly that the society had fostered. Fredrick was around 5 when his father started down this path Fredrick was born from his father, Phill Jones, and his mother, Melisa Jones. Fredrick's life was much like his father's until he saw some things happen in his father's study. He had just gotten home from playing soccer with some of the boys in the lower district, mother would always have him play with the boys in the lower district. Fredrick was heading to his father's study to let him know that he had scored twice in the last game as he stopped before entering. He heard men he wasn't used to. Franklin thought they may have been some of father's constituents so he quickly changed clothes to present himself properly, Father always loved when Fredrick would make a good showing for his guest. Fredrick opened the door to see some men in dirty clothing and carrying beat-up bags. On his father's desk he some knives and more frighting, guns. Fredrick was confused at first. He knew we were not supposed to have guns. That confusion was quickly replaced by fear as he looked at his father, he was furious. He pretended to be calm and asked Fredrick to go wait in his room. Fredrick did and hoped it was all in his head but secretly he knew that what he saw in his father was rage. Soon His father opened up Fredricks door and walked over to him with a beat red face carrying his belt. Fredrick tried to apologize but his father already made up his mind. He beat Fredric with the buckle side of the belt until his father had tired. Was wondering where the child abuse would be. Fredrick was crying and in pain, cuts and lacerations marred his chest and arms where Fredrick took most of the beating. His father left the room after that looking calmer as he could hear another set of footsteps heading towards him. It was his mother. His mother entered the room with a sullen face. She was carrying some bandages and ointment with her. As she sat next to Fredrick, she immediately told him he wasn't allowed to tell the other kids about what happened. He tried to speak up about the guns but mother squeezed his arm where one of the more nastier cuts was. He knew that he wasn't allowed to talk to anyone about this any longer or he might not be long for this world. In the weeks after the event, Fredrick's father had more men over and Fredrick would start going to his room to hide. He would always take books from their personal library to pass the time. Sometimes his mother would let him know if it was alright for him to come out other times his father would come beat him again for seemingly no reason. All Fredrick learned was that if the men didn't give his father what he wanted, his father would take it out on Fredrick or his mother. This pattern of abuse became constant and by age 7 he stopped crying over it. Fredrick would snoop into his father's study whenever he was out on business to help him understand what his father's dealings were. From what he gleaned from his father's short-held records was that he liked things he could normally not have. He would deal with private gatherers to go out into the ruins and procure items for him in exchange for money or favors. Fredrick couldn't understand why any of these items were important for him. All he knew is that he didn't think any of it was worth it. Fredrick's disdain for his father only grew as the years went on. His father turned out to be a man that would be more suited as zombie bait than as a council member. His father's boldness only grew over the years, partaking in drugs, precious materials, embezzling, and all sorts of illegal trade. He was in the pocket of the underbelly for the right price. Fredrick started to change as well. His father had started to lecture him on how to become a successful man and one day join the council. Fredrick felt pings of hatred after each lesson, knowing that his father was an ignoble pig who would put his own desires over others. A council member is a servant for the people is what his father would preach as he would then admire his stolen wealth. Just want to clarify, his father is not the council member correct? I already have NPCs in mind for this role. Im fine with him being a politician. A few years into his teenage years, Fredrick had noticed his father was starting to invite unknown women to his study. He could already tell what was going on but what he couldn't see was that act was the last straw for her. That night she confronted father and a loud argument could be heard. He beat her badly that night to the point Fredrick needed to make a splint for her. Fredrick didn't love his mother but he finally could understand her. She had fallen in love with the image father put forward to the public and was trapped with him now. Her keeping Fredrick silent was all she could do in her mind. Fredrick pitied his mother and learned to forgive her for her weakness. They had a cry together about the situation and Fredrick thought that would be the end of it but mother seemed to have a new level of resolve to her. For the first time in 9 years, she held Fredrick and said everything is going to be okay. This resolve her mother showed and the tender care she showed sticks with him to this day. It seemed her resolve could go so far as she vanished the next day. It was obvious to Fredrick that his father had something to do with it. At first, he thought she told her to leave or she would be killed. As he wondered the house in his father's absence he noticed some blood on the corner of the fireiron. Fredrick gripped it tightly as he felt his chest swell with hate. He couldn't believe his father would go as far as to murder his own wife. Fredrick stood up calmly and steeled himself. He would need to expose his father to get justice for his mother and for all those he has hurt for his own pleasure. In all honestly, it wasn't hard to gather the evidence, Fredrick has been playing the good child for years at this point and he even knew his father's combinations for his vault. The biggest part of Fredrick's preparation was making the drug to murder his father when he inevitably drinks as he panics and looks for Fredrick to beat. The plan took 6 months to properly execute, he spent most of it trying to get a good connection to help expose his father. When the plan started to fall together his father started to panic as details about his crime circulated to the common people along with the elites. Fredrick spent time in the ruins hiding and waiting for his father's death. Returning 3 days later to find his father dead. He reported it and his supposed good name died with him. Many people openly let Fredrick how much they hated his father now that it was okay to speak about it. There was some goodwill left for the Jones family because of his grand-aunt Melisa. Melisa offered to move in to help take care of Fredrick but Fredrick assured her he would be okay. The next few years were rough, constant harassment was normal and whenever he offered another person help they would remind him of his father. Fredrick did whatever he could to distance himself from his father. He finally got his education and started teaching. Being a servant eventually built some goodwill back and he could go about his normal day teaching others as he wanted. But these relaxed days were limited because people needed more things. Fredrick's father's actions had hampered the current council member for the Keepers. She was having a hard time getting her decisions heard and there was a general mistrust of the higher-ups for keepers. Poorer families suffered even after his father's death. Fredrick didn't despair though. No, he instead went to become a rogue. He would use what he could to give back to the families of the kids he was teaching. He was a rogue for 6 years before something else happened. I am fine with this part being canon. At the age of 26, he heard from one of his students that there was an unclaimed baby in their building. Worried for the baby's safety he headed over to find more about the situation. What he found was a prostitute who died in childbirth and a screaming little baby. The other tenants were not in a situation to take care of the baby and there was a consensus to let the baby pass on. Fredrick didn't think twice as he picked up the baby and decided to raise it. He used old formula and took the boy wherever he went. He named him Tarak after the suggestions he got from his students. A much better name than the name he was going to choose. Fredrick enjoyed taking care of the child, watching the little guy grow into his own was fulfilling for the man with no kids of his own. Apparently raising a child as a lone father made him sympathetic to others and he got appointed as dean of the school by the time Tarak hit 4. As much as he wanted to treat Tarak tenderly, he knew he would only be doing him a disservice. He tried to teach him not to fight unless someone else fought first. However, he took that as to not fight back and wound up getting his ass kicked and got laid out. Fredrick had a short talk with him about the family motto of "Do no harm however, take no shit." And in one of the dumbest decisions, Fredric has made, gave his son a switchblade to go get even. Second father of the year nominee. To be fair the boy was older and bigger, Fredrick was just leveling the playing ground. His son came back with a gash across his face and broken ribs. Apparently, he won. Fredrick got him stitched up and took care of him until he could manage himself again. Little bugger healed up quickly. The next incident was when Tarak hit 8, the little kid stupidly followed him outside of the wall, all the way to a rogue meeting. He then, still not realizing the situation introduced himself. Fredrick almost lost it and hit him but calmed down to just ask him why he was here and then the little shit had the gull to repeat the question back. Fredrick described that he was here to get some things for the kids back at the school. And instead of leaving it at that, the kid wanted to come and help. Saying some shit that the school was the best and he wanted to help it as well. It struck a note in him, it reminded him of his simple ideals as a child. With a heavy heart, he let him come along. The others were joking about having a kid with them that night. He did his best and carried what he could. Like a little minion. Slightly adorable but nerve-wracking nonetheless. After that, we traded the loot to get what we needed for the school families. After that, Iswitched tenses had to sit down and have a serious talk about what Fredrick was doing. Tarak being young enough not to consider all the details but old enough to properly commit himself decided to take his training. Fredrick promised him that he would treat him like a man and would teach him all he could. Tarak agreed not fully knowing what that would mean. No matter how hard Fredrick trained Tarek, he never complained. Tarak got to see the other side of Fredrick and saw who his father really was. He shared with him what the Jones line had done. Tarak kept trying to convince him to go out but Fredrick wouldn't let him. They would start working on projects together, one of them being a biofuel engine. Fredrick spent a good bit of time helping his son put together his first engine. Fredrick always saw it as a hobby and nothing more but to his surprise, it ran. It ran decently well. He was so proud of his son that he even arranged to get him steaks for next weekend. But disaster struck as the militia took it for safety reasons."""""SaFEtY""""""" His son had shown anger before but Fredric could tell how much this hurt him. To hopefully cheer him up he] vogued what are you trying to say here that his age was 16 even though he was actually 15 and a half. After that, they started to do things together not just as father and son but as fellow rogues.
