Sorry to double post, but I wanted to paste in what I had for my CS thus far. Looking for suggestions/changes from anyone willing! In particular let me know if I've gone too far (or not far enough) in terms of equipment and abilities. I may have had a lot of fun there. Her skin is pale, and her features are refined. She could be described as fragile looking, though she may take umbrage with the assessment. The few notable features that clash with this overall image are her toned muscles, angular shoulders and battle scars. She is a figurine hewn from granite, with stone grey hair to match, which flows wild and free from her head. Her eyes are discerning, and the color of dull straw. When not in uniform she wears similarly proper and monochrome clothing. Calling attention in a way that does not call attention. Her legs are augmented with assistive cybernetics, to counteract her condition. Similarly there is a small protrusion at the center of her chest to aid in breathing. Often she also uses an air tank, though science has come far in even the regard; meaning it is largely unobtrusive. [hr] [b][h2]Battlemage: Golemancer[/h2][/b] [hr] [b][h2]Personality:[/h2][/b] Loretta is a person with something to prove. While she is not considered the nicest person in the world, she is also not caustic. Someone who is used to fighting for recognition, they have come to expect competition in most endeavors. While she will often hold her tongue, it does not mean she is afraid to speak her mind. In a few words she could be defined as competitive, distant, and unkindly; self centred. However Loretta also strives to protect her people; even the ones she disagrees with. If you fall under the same banner she does, you are her own flesh and blood. She expects the effort back that she gives, and refuses to be looked down upon. Those who have served under her might describe the relationship as akin to a well meaning but inexperienced aunt. Often too tired for humor, but never to be indecent. [hr] [b][h2]Background:[/h2][/b] TL;DR: Sickly child with dreams of being knight was born a mage. Now competes with them fiercely. [Hider=History] The Voltylun is a middling house at best within Belisoan history. Not being apart of the original founding families, and gaining status a generation or two later. While their history began in military, they shifted to more mercantile efforts in aiding the expansion of the nation. Their wealth comes from land dealings within the countries borders, though often a son or daughter would enlist each generation. Loretta is one such daughter; her father being one such knight before her. From childhood her head was filled with his fantastic stories, and tales of their families pride. Despite her different interests, Loretta always knew she'd grow to become a true and proud knight of Belisio, However things are never so simple. Before adolescence she would become afflicted with a degenerative condition. Affecting her breathing, and the function of her legs. This of course did not dissuade someone like Loretta however. If anything, her passion for studying the arts of Ki grew tenfold. Mastering her body, she would be able to do anything she wanted, even if it were harder for her than others. She would experience another blow however when she learned definitively she was unable to learn Ki. Being born a mage, it was an impossibility. Not only this, but she would be unable to strengthen herself as she hoped. For some years she fell into a depression, locked away in one of the family estates, only allowing attendants and nurses to keep her company. She would emerge later; ready to finally accept the surgeries her family had presses upon her, only when she could stand on her own two feet again. Having spent all her time studying the use of mana, she developed a way of creating basic constructs. At first brace-like instruments around her legs, then full armor to keep herself rigid. After a stressful recovery period she was able to function as a self-sufficient individual, and began proper schooling for the use of magic. Continuing to excel in her creation of rigid structures, she graduated from her program with flying colors, and continued her schooling through the military program. Joining the ranks of the Battlemages to prove her family proud, and accomplish some semblance of her childhood dreams. If she could not be a knight, she would compete with them. And nothing could stop her. [/Hider] [hr] [b][h2]Equipment:[/h2][/b] [b]Hephestus(tm) Named Sword "Khione":[/b] From the famed blade makers, taken from the minor god series it is named for a deity of snow. An energy blade with a solid white color styled like a dueling rapier. It's designed to weaken the energy flow of items or people it comes in contact with; making it come slower. As if "frozen". The effect is diminished upon greater masses of mana or ki, and works best upon standard items or weaker foes. [b]Antimagic Battlecoat, Grade: Queen:[/b] Top of the line magic focused armor; it appears to be normal cloth, though it is crafted from lightweight magic resistant materials and heavily enchanted against external magic sources. While it is not meant to stop a blade, it will stand well against any energy based attacks. While it is specifically crafted to disrupt energy, it is still a light form of armor, and will not sustain the same damage as a suit of armor of a similar calibre. [b]"Wyvern" Shield-Drone x 2:[/b] Two mental-link drones programmed to follow/orbit the user while in combat. They are designed to appear as smaller version of classic knightly shields. They are energy shields meant to allow the user to focus on attacking rather than deflecting smaller projectiles. While they are not perfect blockers, nor as sturdy as a proper shield, they have their uses. [b]HMSA-28 "Wichbolt" Pistol:[/b] A heavy pistol designed to carry mana charged projectiles. Packs a stronger punch for a stronger mage. A trusted fallback for Battlemages who focus less on energy based attacks of their own. [hr] [b][h2]Abilities:[/h2][/b] [b]Golemancy:[/b] Loretta's prime skill and specialization. The formation of crystalline masses of mana; often used for creation of thrown weapons like blades and spears, as well as makeshift shields and even moving constructs. These include animate soldiers and even extra arms or legs on Loretta's person. The amount of mass she can create/manipulate at once is dependant on her stamina; naturally larger amounts are more draining. [b]Phase Shift:[/b] While Loretta's preference and skill lies in rigid structures, she has been training in the ability to shift her constructs between the different states of matter when useful. This is a more involved process for her and less down to rote memory. However being able to strike with blades that flicker between solid and gas can be worth the effort. [b]Cryokinesis:[/b] An earlier form of Loretta's pure mana constructs, they require adequate water in the surrounding area; pulled from the vapor in the air or vulnerable bodies. While Loretta focuses far less on this application of magic, it is the last stand out of her repertoire. Mainly used as a lower cost version of her golemancy and for creating a battlefield that puts foes on the backfoot. [hr] [b][h2]Extra:[/h2][/b] (Optional) [/centre] [/hider]
