Honestly, to me the implant idea always appealed more as a sort of "experimentation to try and get [b]more[/b] out of biotics", which could be when the dangers start to arise in their entirety. That idea I'll leave in the back of my mind for maybe another time if it doesn't fly, but yeah, the genetics side of it seems to make more sense, provided they were born with those genes
