I really want to learn how to write the way he does because the imagery, pace and humor he uses in a modern fantasy setting is just perfect, in my eyes. I enjoy reading Anne Rice, Stephen King and Brian Lumley as well as plenty of others, but Butcher's style just mirrors the goal for my own style of writing far better. Everything is done in the protagonist's first person perspective and , even knowing the characters' thoughts to some extent, Butcher still finds ways to surprise the reader, add suspense, and even be a bit cheeky.
