Okay I came up with a character. I figured these kinds of stories always need a small town sheriff and deputy.
Name:
Arthur Webb
Age:
32
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Arthur stands tall at 6’’, with an athletic build. His skin is a pale white, with a tattoo of a raven of his right arm. His eyes are dark brown, as his hair which is medium length. Arthur also tends to have some level of facial hair, usually having a mustache and beard. When not wearing his deputy’s uniform, Arthur tends to wear basic colors like white, black, and blue. Given the Maine weather, Arthur usually wears long sleeve clothes, like a sweater and jeans.
Biography:
The Webb family had lived in Philadelphia for several generations, loving the city. Arthur’s parents had met as real estate agents working for the same agency. They immediately fell in love and were quickly married. Both of them had always dreamed of leaving the city, to pursue a simpler live. It was shortly after the birth of their son Arthur that they decided to pursue their dream. So when Arthur was a toddler, he and his parents moved northeast to the small town of Queensborough, Maine.

The Webbs would quickly be accepted in Queensborough, as they set up their own real estate agency. Given that they lived in a small town, real estate business was never great but it was enough to get by with. Arthur would enroll at Queensborough Elementary School, where he would begin to make friends. Arthur quickly became just one of the local kids, hanging around town, pulling pranks. It was around the age of ten that Arthur heard the legends of the lake and the monsters and ghosts that lurked within. Of course Arthur never put much stock in these stories.

Arthur’s pleasant life would be interrupted when a tragedy struck Queensborough. One night after a house party, the head quarterback of the local football team would get into a car accident while drunk. He would slam his car into Arthur’s father’s. Both drivers would die in this crash, the accident becoming the number one news story in the small town. Following his father’s death, Arthur would withdraw. He stopped hanging out with his friends and began to struggle with his academics. Concerned, the school guidance counselor would recommend that Arthur attend some youth groups at the Queensborough YMCA.

Arthur would initially be against this idea, but he did eventually attend. It was there that Arthur met Thomas Fuller, the local sheriff, and the man who ran the drop-in sports league at the YMCA. Arthur would connect with Sheriff Fuller, the older man becoming a father figure to him. With Fuller’s help, Arthur was able to get back on course, graduating high school with good grades. Following his graduation, Arthur decided to take all his savings and travel the world for six months to figure out what he wanted to do with his life.

When he returned to Queensborough, Arthur had decided on becoming the town sheriff like Thomas Fuller. Arthur would work at the big cafe in downtown Queensborough while studying to join the police force. Eventually his efforts paid off when Arthur was made a deputy. Arthur would proudly join the police force, happy to help out his hometown. Now several years later, Arthur is still pining for the position of town sheriff, but is being troubled with the first truly serious case he’s ever had with the disappearances and murders.
Intentions:
As the sheriff’s deputy, it’s Arthur’s job to investigate these disappearances and murders. That and he truly loves Queensborough and would do anything to save it.
