Voices can certainly be an acquired taste. (And be better served for different genres.)

I admittedly tend to prefer faster tempos and shorter songs. Unless the vocals or lyrics can make up for them.

Because I've been spoiled by Progressive and Avant-Garde metal bands, that make use of their songs longer running time. So when I see an album of 10 minute songs, I worry how long it will keep my attention. 

So for instance, I love the riffage going on in the Restless Spirit album. But I can only imagine how much more I'd like it, with harsher/stronger vocals backing it up.

But 'Clouds Taste Satanic' make a pretty good cover songs. ^-^'
