[sub]Nate has a degree in photography, but that doesn’t mean he is a sellout by any means. He only takes jobs that he feels passionate about. Just because he might be a photographer Disney might hire for nature shots or maybe certain celebrities along the northeast have him on speed dial, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t love it. Actually, it’s his association with such famous figures that have led to an improved confidence level in the man. But at the end of the day, whatever form of “selling out” he does is balanced out when he’s able to go deep into the forests of Meadow View and find himself. [indent]When he was in high school, Nate was a dork. A lovable dork, sure, but anytime you saw him, he wore anime shirts, shirts with cartoon characters on them, or at one point, looking like [url=https://i.pinimg.com/originals/ad/f8/f1/adf8f175cff824cc39482926c2a8a8c9.jpg]Waldo[/url]. He was a lover of bright, vibrant colors and beanie knit caps. He also loved sweatshirts and hoodies for when winter was around, though in Florida that was a day-to-day case. 

But now, as he is ten years older, well, not much has changed, but Nate can afford more expensive shirts and pants and he doesn’t dress [i]as[/i] goofy anymore. He has more than just anime and cartoon merch in his closet. Being in the profession that he is, Nate owns several suits. Whether or not they’re used or not remains to be seen, but he always dresses for the occasion. But you can bet your ass that Nate is [i]always[/i] going to rock the beanie knit cap and some sweatshirt of some kind. Shoes and accessories don’t really seem to matter to him. He has a few pairs for every kind of event: formal, casual, and Cookie Monster house slippers for when he’s relaxing in his own home.

[indent]Whether in his professional life, personal life, or back in high school, Nathan was always a fun-loving kind of dude. He was somewhat of an idiot in the way he talked and acted sometimes, but unless that was something that you absolutely hated, he was and to this day, [i]is[/i] an easy going guy that gets along with just about everyone who will give him the chance to know them. He’s still the self-high fiving idiot that took photos for yearbook that everyone knew, only he does that for a living now

And yes, just as he was back in high school (and for those who went to MU with him), he does give random hugs upon seeing someone that he adores. It’s his way of saying hello, so might as well get used to it (if you aren’t already)..[/indent]
[color=springgreen][b]Backstory[/b][/color]
[indent]Most of those close to him know him as the self-high-fiving, photographer for yearbook, overall lame-o, borderline stoner, lovable idiot who had surprisingly killer dance moves for a white boy. But for the rest of the school, the reason the entire school no doubt heard of Nathan Blake, even through whispers, was due to a very public, reputation-damning incident that was pure in its intentions. 

That epic proposal he made at the start of prom. The one where he sang and danced for his one and only, Jasper Delamar. Only to be crushed amidst the dead silence of the crowd that was a mixture of support and dumbfounded awe. Some might remember him moving in ways that, up until that moment, Nathan Blake had never shown. He slid across a conveniently-placed table, descended off it using the chair, and rolled at multipl instances. All the while he was doing this, he sang in surprisingly non-ear-bleeding harmonies and all to the tune of Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are.”

But at the end of it all, when the son of Congressman Harvey Blake came to find out, not all was written in the stars for him and Jasper that night. As he went down on one knee, his grandma’s ring that she had entrusted to him when he turned sixteen, Nate wasn’t feeling so great after Jasper had not only walked out, but grabbed him by the arm. 

That night Nathan learned two things. Number one, of course, was exactly how much Jasper loathed something like that. He got an earful and he listened to her. Part of him was devastated and their relationship was doomed to fail even before graduation. The second thing was that, despite everything about it that felt right, Nate learned that not everyone can have a happy ending at such a young age.

Or any age, for that matter.

In the years that followed, Nate carried himself like he always did: head held high and always looking forward to the next adventure. Whether that was attending an out-of-state, Ivy League college in Vermont, meeting his soon-to-be bestie, Mandy, or eventually standing up to his tyrannical father who, up until his last year of college, had no idea that Nate was majoring in photography and not some business-centric subject that he convinced Harvey he was. That wasn’t to say that he didn’t have a minor in finance. Nate proved to have a knack for numbers. He figured out a system that no doubt was improved through the use of weed!

After college, Nate stayed in Meadow View, Vermont. By the time he graduated, he fell in love with the city and the surrounding area. He cemented a reputation around the old town as being friendly and down to earth and he even got into a few relationships. None of them were long-term, but through his work as a freelance photographer, some sparks flew with a few clients. All-in-All, Nate was happy in Vermont and adapted to the climate over time (going to college for four years would most certainly give him time for that). 

But he always thought about JAsper from time to time and, of course, all of the friends he made while in high school. He never made any enemies (not that he was aware of), but sometimes he wondered about them. 

And then one day the letter came. Their ten year reunion was on it’s way and Nate couldn’t have RSVP'd and booked his flight to his old stomping ground faster if he was the goddamn Flash!.[/indent]
