[ *If you choose to be a fan of his, feel free to create your own canons/characters in his comics but please first, run it by me. I'm pretty open-minded and lenient, so long as there is open communication with things revolving around my character. ][/sub]
[sub]↳ The Paper Warriors: follows a boy named Scott Hughes, whose world turns upside down when he realizes he is capable of changing reality itself with his pencil. As a form of escapism, from his childhood trauma, he uses his talent to create the people in his life, super-human. Friends, lovers, family, rivals, etc. With his town being off the radar, his chaos magic is able to create a small dream-like place away from the rest of the world. Little does he know, while his abilities of creation are rare, he isn't the first instance where a child has been gifted with an ability to shift reality. Turns out there are other pockets in the world where a community is blessed/cursed with superpowers and the cause of this is usually centered by a child with a dream. As he grows into an adult, he becomes known as "The Dream Mask" and is tasked to travel and locate these warriors, in order to save the balance of the world they all helped create together. ____________________________________________________________________ ↳ The Amazing Adventures of El Mariachi: Rafael Ortiz, or more known as El Mariachi, lives for his job, traveling around the multi-universe to touch people’s hearts with his music. He wants to live peacefully, simply enjoying the vibes and hearing people's stories. Unfortunately, he has everything but a peaceful life. Where there is a beautiful sound that can make a god cry, there are enemies that want such beauty and power for their own selfish desires. That's the thing, though! El Mariachi becomes stronger when he lives and experiences life. The more his heart feels, the stronger the song. He not only has the power to empower, or weaken, people with a song, but his empathetic voice can instill an emotion in a crowd, which may impact fate itself. When El Mariachi gets involved with his muse, a beacon known as Radiance, who stands for life, love, and light, he finds a conviction to do more with his music. ____________________________________________________________________ ↳ All My Falling Stars: This is Spike's only romance comic book series. This series follows the perspective of two lovers, Tristan Little & Layla Sloane-Cooper. Tristan is unassuming and considers himself undesirable. It was intentional that his name was chosen as such by his creator. Tristan meaning sad/sorrowful and his surname displaying how insignificant he feels. It doesn't help that this boy feels he has nothing to give and won't last past 21 years old. He covers all this with a smile, vulgar jokes, and focusing on everyone else's happiness but his own. An idiot so no one looks under the surface. Then there's Layla, a girl who is incredibly shy and feels that she is invisible to everyone, but the theater kids. She chooses to surround herself with stars, standing on the sideline to watch them all shine in hopes one day, she may shine just like them. She wants a miracle to happen and unbeknownst to her, that miracle comes in a boy helping with set design. There, a beautiful romance begins where Tristan shows Layla that stars don't shine, they burn. Her soul is passionate and beautiful, which makes her glow so incredibly bright to him. As for her towards him, she sees his gifts and his kind, generous heart. She sees him as someone with a future, someone that has so much to prove and fight for, someone who deserves the world and more. Layla makes Tristan feel like a superboy, her hero, by simply loving him. Something he's never felt until he met her. Unfortunately, the series ends with the graduation volume, after the break up arc. It ends in a sentimental, yet bittersweet way, where Tristan has been changed for the better and wants to be more than his past, for his forever love, who helped him realize that the darkest nights produce the brightest stars. He knew the longer she stood with him... the less she would burn. She needed to believe in herself and that meant... she shouldn't feel obligated to save him. He was fallen, she was not. All he could do was stare at her, in a sky full of stars. That's where the series ended, only making fans want more. There was a leaked page from his sketch pad for his second series, Starlight Miracle, where Layla screams at Tristan, telling him that he wasn't just a star to her, he was her whole damn sky. Sadly, fans never got their second series and don't expect it to come. While they had little to nothing, they grew up believing they were fortunate and happy. Nothing was more important than a loving family and while theirs was small, their parents were full of warmth, kindness, and adoration. Those who were close to Spike at the time knew not through him but through the grapevine that his mother died by a severe flu on February 13, 2004 and his father died in a hit-and-run on May 4, 2007. Their lives were uprooted from Columbus, Ohio, to Avalon Landing RV Park in Milton, Florida, where their Paw-Paw resided as a retired, old soul, simply spending his days finding inner peace and strumming his guitar. While there was only a summer to figure out where Spike would go for high school, Paw-Paw pulled some strings, reaching out to old contacts of his. He was able to slip in an overdue application for Spike to attend the notable Kings Academy in Palms Beach. While he personally never attended, he knew Tallulah, Spike's mother, had attended on an art scholarship. It also helped she was a minority. Not only could Spike get an art scholarship like his mother, but he could be seen as a legacy. If there was anything that Paw-Paw would love to give his grandchildren, it was the tools to succeed in this ruthless, cutthroat world that he was unable to give his own son. Something he too didn't have when he was trying to become a folk musician. What won the administrative staff was not that Spike was a legacy, but that he was an art prodigy. His gorgeous, stunningly detailed, and mind blowing art portfolio. They were taken aback with how gifted he was and could only imagine how he drew prior to them seeing his art. On the first day of school, Spike was seen as a bright, energetic idiot, not necessarily a class clown, since he wasn't aiming to make people laugh, but a lovable fool that loosened people up to not care about status quo. He was a boy with such a childish grin and such a repressed, perverted, and vulgar sense of humor, that most of the boys could handle. As for the girls? It was a hit or miss. Within the first semester, he became the school mascot. The King's Lion. No he isn't a furry, but it's a good gig when it comes to the proximity to the cheerleaders and their skirts. By the end of freshmen year, he established himself as Spike-Meister, the token dumbass. This was a role he chose to play because it left most people speechless. It became a coping mechanism to divert intimate conversation, making sure it was away from him and not towards. Under the surface, he was thoughtful, not as dumb as he acted, surprisingly a Literature and History buff, extremely considerate and kind, and someone who watched his surroundings and looked out for his classmates. He would take the fall time and time again, even if he didn't do the crime, not minding detention because it gave him a quiet space to draw. He knew more about everyone else than they knew about him. He only trusted one other person with his damage, his best friend, other than that, people simply knew him as the lively, simple-minded mascot. That is until he started dating the shy theater girl, Lilibeth Fontaine, by the end of sophomore year. Unbeknownst to him, she was unintentionally changing how people perceived him, for better or for worse. People grew curious about him and tried to build a bridge of friendship. Most failed, forcing him to go back to his foolish Jackass antics, but for those that slipped through the cracks, they learned how sad and hopeless Spike was. He hid behind a smile. Deep down, he didn't see a future beyond high school. Even so, she believed in him. She burned for him. Fast forward to adulthood, Spike had let go of his first love to focus on himself mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The only people he stood in contact with in high school were Max and Nate, seeing how he bonded between the two through the years in a way that's hard to re-write. He ended up moving to Venice, California, with Max's cousin, Rico, only to find himself lonelier than ever. He spent his time working full time at a concession stand at a local theater. On June 2, 2015 a year after Spike's little brother graduated King's Academy, their Paw-Paw passed away through natural causes and they both were left with life insurance and a mobile home. Not too long after their bereavement period, Spike got into a car accident, which forced both brothers to wake up and not let death control their lives. Xander chose to leave Florida to follow a girl he's had a crush on his whole four years at King's, until they finally settled in Milwaukee, WI. Now he is a stay-at-home dad who does crafts on the side, selling it online. Meanwhile, Spike's mindset changed completely and he decided to truly, deeply soul search and become a better man. Once his leg injury healed, he went out of his way to be healthy and exercise. He went out of his way to leave the house with Rico and Max. He went out of his way to trust in himself and his talents, finally publishing his ongoing series, Paper Warriors. He finally believed he deserved to see tomorrow and because of that, he started elevating and centering himself. There's so much that has happened from graduation to present day, like how Spike's roommate published a passion project that wasn't meant for anyone's eyes but himself or that he now is actually a pretty known double threat comic artist & writer. Spike no longer works in a theater since he makes good enough money on his own to sustain a pleasant lifestyle in the comfort of his studio. He's also a jog away from the beach and his only remainder family member, his little bro, is thriving in his great pursuit, boldly adventuring where his beloved ballerina chooses to go. Spike's reached a place where he doesn't need sex, which is weird, and that he doesn't really need anyone in his life, completely self sufficient and sustainable. However, having people to love and love him back makes life easier to bear and worth living. He knows where he stands is good and it took so long to find this feeling of being content and at peace. And yet, he can't help but think of the many things he left unsaid... the reunion date was creeping up and he was still debating if he should even go. Revisiting the past wasn't something he liked to do, but maybe, just maybe, it would be worth his while. Rico seems to think so...
