At a request. I bring you a Light from the past. One of the surviving members of Team Scimitar.
Name; Howard Davis known as Degatogah Age: 43 Appearance: Six foot five inches of ghostly hunter. Dark tanned skin, not sun kissed, that's just stupid, no, this is true dark tanned skin from working in the sun, not lying in the sun all day long. An almost leather-like color, hells it even feels like leather, thick, with a real feel to it. A powerful but whippy build, of corded muscle, no body builder, but with a tone. Calloused hands, used to handling tools and doing work bare handed. If not under a ghille tends to wear either t-shirts, polo shirts or muscle shirts. With hiking or work boots on his feet, and more then like cargo style khaki trousers. His hair is perpetually cut into a short mohawk, swept back towards the back of his head, at the very rear, of his head is a long thick bread, that goes to just above his tail bone. His eyes are a dark black, he says he has eyes of obsidian. Sharp eyes indeed. When on the job he's wearing a combat webbing, with several pockets, pouches and places to store items and equipment, usually worn under his ghille which is easily adapatable to the environment. The cape style ghille is open at the front so he can reach inside it for anything he needs. When up close, the black, grey and red warpaint he wears tends to take on the look of the hunters mask Callsign: Lasanga (9000 Moxana points to who get this reference) Skills: Tracking - Be it a partial foot print, a cigarette butt, the remains of a sandwich, he can very well find who did it. The smallest sign is all he needs to start putting together a direction of travel, how many, and what they might have eaten for breakfast if you want specifics. The Zone - The zone, once you're in it, almost nothing can phase you. Patience, breathing, basic needs, can be dulled so what needs to be done, can be done. This is the Zone. One with Nature - Even without his ghille he can disappear right into nearly any environment. But with his ghille on, only the most eagle-eyed stealther or observant being will be able to pick him out. Eclectic Fighter - Trained in Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jui Jitsu, straight up bare knuckled street fighting, and the incredibly eclectic Okichitaw Cree Martial art. Coupled with knife fighting, and the knowledge of tomahawk combat and axe throwing. Makes for one hell of nightmare to encounter in a dark situation. Professional Hunter - Has the trained eye of a hunter to look for the best place to ambush, or to get that shot from a place the prey won't expect. History: Brought up in Ganienkeh in Northern New York State. Second child of four, and the oldest male sibling. His family were traditionalists, trying their best to live off the land rather then out of a grocery store. They had a few trap lines in some of the wilder sections of the land, which had been handed down to them for generations. His father is an accomplished hunter, his mother knew all the things a woman of traditonal understanding should know, and more so. It's not that they lived as savage. As his father had a Ph.D in Engineering, and his mother a Doctorate in Special Education. They could have had wonderful jobs, but instead decided to live a much simpler lifestyle. Almost from day one, David was brought up to rever those old ways, to never take more then you needed, to use everything that you do get. He did go to the public school system, and went through it all with decent grades. He went partially through college before joining the army. There he completed his college Masters in Physics. In the army he quickly showed how a traditionalists approach to fieldcraft went a long long way. He quickly worked his way into the sniping detail. Becoming somewhat well known in the company he worked with for being able to disappear utterly, and reappearing when he was needed, and never ever missing. When a platoon needed sniper cover, they often requested him to be the cover. By the time he left the army, he regularly broke the golden rule of sniping to never shoot from the same place more then twice. Mostly because the enemy could never find him. Upon return to civilian life, one would have thought he'd be at a loss, not able to let go of the army life. And in a sense that's true, but instead of being unable to settle, he took up the lifestyle of his parents, and become a hunter. Full time without end. He made a living selling prime wild meat to restuarants around the land he hunted, who else could boast having real, true to life game meat? He hunted with rifle and bow, picking off bird and big game like deer, elk and moose. It was here that Scimitar came to be known to him, a recruiter managed to find him in the bush. He had been tucked away, stalking a small herd of deer, when some fool in a man in a suit and hiking boots came tromping into the bushes, yelling his name. Davis had ghosted up behind him, and in payback for spooking the heard, scared the living daylights out of the man. What followed was a whirlwind recruitment attempt. With the recruit trying to follow Howard into the bush to talk to him. It took the man a week and a half to finally convince Howard to atleast look into it. Everything fell into place after that. How can you say no to a sniper that never misses after all? And one that only the most wily, and observant watcher can see. After Scimitar Serving with Scimitar for a fair amount of time the young hunter and marksman left wealthier in experience and wisdom. Returning to Canada and the States. There he would spend some years training snipers in camouflage, distance shooting and tracking craft at Quantico, Perry and CFB Gagetown. But would spend much of his time working his trap lines in Northen New York State and mid-Ontario and Quebec. The Call of the Blackbird He'd been doing his thing on the trap lines and occasionally shooting at a range to stay in practice. The wealth of knowledge and wisdom hadn't left him. So when he was in the bush he was a little surprised. There was a note. Raven. That's what it said with directions and coordinates. A base. A new team. He watched listened and learned. Until he let himself be seen on a security camera. Melting out of some bushes near the main base entrance. Then melting away. A general alert and security was rushed out. Three days later, 4 more sighting, several security guards returning with detailed notes placed in their pockets about how the chalk marks on their persons told the story of how the Ghost had killed them. It was a nightmare for another 2 days. Until Dr. Imran Malik was contacted. And the story of Howard was told. At the end of the day having Svetlana and Antionette come to the base outskirts to call for him. Only then did the Infamous sniper show himself. Just appearing out of the base bush to grab the pair in a hug. Then announce his intention to help Raven. Saying the last six days were his way of showing his credentials. Personality: Can be very stoic and severe when on the job, as he takes his job seriously. He's quiet, single-minded and dangerous. But has the ability to switch gears from the zone to a much more approachable person. He likes to laugh, chat on several topics, even debate them at length. He can also on occasion be found in a bar or pub somewhere sipping at a drink with a nice pub steak in front of him. Fun and games, and then the switch is thrown and it's all business.
