Sorek was born on Vulcan approximately thirty two years, fifteen days, twelve hours, thirty minutes, and 15 seconds ago. Like all of his kind he was raised in the Vulcan way, to suppress violent emotion, to persue the mastery of logic. Unlike many before him however, this concept was not entirely easy for him to grasp, for the more he grew and learned not only of his culture but also of the greater universe, the more he realized that his kinds way was, in his mind, not logical. Suppressing one's emotion and to use nothing but logic is in itself an impossibility. He had an innate desire to understand not only the universe but even more about himself and the greater unknown, to seek the true mastery of logic as he saw it. This was one such reason among many others that inspired the young Vulcan to seek true purpose beyond the world he was born into. There was no shock, especially to his father, when he settled into life at the Starfleet academy determined by their motto of discovering new planets and exploring the unknown. Sorek became almost addicted to learning everything he could from the moment he arrived on academy grounds and excelled and soared through the academy. There was not much time in-between until the young Vulcan found himself among his first crew, his first ship as number one on the U.S.S Eternity. He took to the position like it had always been his destiny to sit at the helm of a starship and he finally began his long career as a starfleet officer, setting off into the unknown, looking for the answers he sought. His career aboard the Eternity was by no means as exciting or notable as the journeys or exploits of the likes of U.S.S Enterprise, but in his time aboard, he was privy to many new civilizations and even brokered diplomatic relations with some of the more violent ones. The changing point though in his life was the loss of his left eye and the end of his life aboard the Eternity when he was only twenty six. The tragic loss of the Eternity and her crew is something that often conflicts the Vulcans mind and the fact that he was the only one that managed to survive. INFORMATION REDACTED -=-U.S.S ETERNITY INCIDENT REPORT-=- *BY ORDER OF STARTFLEET COMMAND REGULATION 6727-5419* Perhaps it was the loss of his crew, or the untimely end of the one he had formed a relationship with on the Eternity or maybe even the loss of his eye, but Sorek would end up leaving Starfleet and returning home to Vulcan. Through bad or worse his innate desire to understand life beyond his own had diminished and he no longer desired to stray from the path of his people. Even going to the point of dedicating himself to the teachings and repressing all emotion and striving for mastery of logic. So when his father, a devout Vulcan became the catalyst that would give him the courage to rejoin Starfleet and face the demons that Sorek was trying so desperately to suppress, it came as a shock. After being gone for three years Sorek would return to Starfleet and start his career anew again. Though, it was obvious from the start that he was still haunted by the events of the Eternity, due to this he refused to ever become a Starfleet captain, and spent the many last years transitioning from ship to ship as Science Officer lending his expertise to recruits who were graduating and starting their futures. Now, in the current day Sorek has been handpicked to serve above a new ship, the U.S.S Nova where he will for the first time since the incident with Eternity, explore the unknown, discover new planets, and again seek the answers to the questions, to understand true logic. Sorek like many vulcans before him is rather reserved in a real sense, he does not show emotion on the outside and can always be described as calm no matter the situation. Intelligent to a fault he can often be found discussing many a topic with his colleagues. If the vulcan had but one trait that soared above all others, it would be his loyalty. Even if there were no logic within it, he would gladly give his life to save another's life if it came down to it. He is not capable of betrayal, in fact it is often on this subject that Sorek can become rather one minded, to him there is no excuse. While he can a bit hard to know, Sorek is by nature a kind soul and a rather staunch friend. Bisexual

Single

None

"True logic is not just understanding the universe but also understanding yourself." - Sorek
