Kythor
Once the seance had concluded and he had chatted to the halfling some about how he was able to perform the seance, Kythor thought to himself about what the halfling was asking him to do. To Kythor, the challenge of survival up here was what made his life the way it was, what gave it purpose. While it was most certainly true that things have been getting worse recently, especially since his separation from the tribe, in a way he saw it as a challenge that must be met. It meant that he could prove to himself and others what he was capable of, to really hammer home the teachings of his elders. Instead, it seemed that people were more invested in making this land more accomodating. The tiefling was left torn on how he should feel about this. On the one hand, it was certainly a shame that the miserable conditions had caused so much loss of life. On the other hand, the elders had taught him that when faced with adversity, he had three options: bend, break, or begone. He and his kin had spent much time learning to bend to the land, even though they were forced to depart from their original homes in the cities... So, it was certainly up to those who came to see to it that they could survive everything this land could throw at them... right? He wasn't certain. Kythor shook his head, having long since been left to his thoughts by the halfling, before finally rejoining the others in the main hall of the tavern. Although he saw everybody gathering for drinks, Kythor wanted to finish up the last bit of business that they had come in here for initially: finding someone who could navigate the treacherous waters to help find the fishermen, or what was left of them. If the spirit had told the truth, they would be possibly facing a hag, which would no doubt make their journey that much more difficult if she decided to interfere. After a bit of thought, he decided to approach the half elf, Simon Erickson. Kythor approached the table and propped his arms flat onto the top of a chair, leaning on it as he looked at the potential sailor. "Simon Erickson, yeah?" Kythor began. "Heard you're in need of some coin after an incident involvin' an oil lantern and a clumsy orc. As it just so happens, my companions and I are in need 'a someone who can guide a boat through treacherous waters. Possibly with or without a hag involved, more likely with than without. Think you're up to the task?"
