So not the actual interest check in a way, but more so a gathering of interest phase. Testing the waters if you will. Currently working on a new thing between myself and a few friends on the concept of an RP set in the Warhammer 40k universe, though more in line with a proper character-based RP than the standard fare. The idea is to distance ourselves from the "Grim Dark" aspects of the setting and embrace what made it interesting and lively to begin with. A rather dystopian background with strange and quirky characters, going off and getting into epic adventures against the grave threats to the Imperium. And as some of you may have guessed, yes that means the RP is going to focus mostly on a Rogue Trader and her crew as they go on a big dumb adventure. Sure, the idea is that there will be chaos, orks, tyranids and even the occasional brush with the Inquisition through the RP, but why not have a little bit of fun along the way? Like the crew going into the unknown and half-assing their way to profit and vague glory. Perhaps exploring great dangers, very nearly dying and then lighting up with a group of people that sound more like the start of a joke than an actual crew. Or maybe, just maybe, a cast of desperate souls seeking something better in the galaxy than the endless carnage and suffering, some who have lost everything, some who never had anything to begin with, and a few who just want to make an impact without a bolter or chainsword.
