Yeah, I'm slowly but surely adding a little more backstory to the world, which is more or less our world in a total flustercuck. Funny, I wasn't really thinking of the Conglomerate when I was writing those up, but you may be onto something.
Not a problem, I was just creating some motivation factor for my character to be a little bit larger-than-life but still match the cyberpunk sense so her story would not be too gritty in overexploiting the "punk" in cyberpunk. I had the idea of having Suzy's enemy to be a rival gang, a group with traditional "family" name. But then I think since this is a sandbox, I might want to have something more threatening, something that more similar to the real world mafia than something depicted in popular arts. You know, while the novel mafia goes pew pew gunblasting, the real world "mafia" has their names legally imprinted on our daily grocery stuffs and controlling their prices without us realizing them doing monopoly, and aggressively taking over competing business in the same sector. We might even use their banking service to keep our money, make credit payment, or borrow some loans for business, legally. Oh the wonder of laissez-faire economy, private sectors, and deregulation. So yea, this Conglomerate, they are a circle of people who own large portions of shares of the corporations you put on the background setting, enough to drive their directive decisions. A schism among this circle could trigger a state-spanning corporate war.
