Elden Ring, for me, has really not found a good balance for the whole "you can go anywhere" thing and the "guided path" thing because you can follow the guided path and run headfirst into Margit and feel like it's way overtuned and then you explore the mini dungeons, get paltry rewards and a lame boss experience and are still no real closer to knowing the tools for a boss like that. And then going further beyond means you come across harder enemies but for people unfamiliar with the Souls style games they're only going to find frustration. Sure, an experienced player can come back with a +10 sword of fuckoff and absolutely wreck Margit or whoever but call me stupid or whatever but I don't think the games encounters should be balanced around the notion of "hit a wall, go around wall and come back later" Also, and this is just me, too many bosses have like barely any safe attack time so I'm just going fuck it and guard crushing or tanking hits anyway.
