the humans that were killed were enemies of the thruth. they were the real evil plageing this earth. The dragons had to either kill them to save us from their evil lies of the false gods. or let the whole human race together with the gods to die, let the world die that they created. By taking the next generation we would teach the children of those evil men to love and embrace the teachings of our gods the true gods of the world
