[color=F0F4C3]♘[/color] Persephone grew from a well to do family in the Caseonia Kingdom on farmland. She was an only child. Her family loved her and them, and the three of them seemed to have happy lives. Her mother Maria owned a bakery while her father worked in the palace. Often, Persephone would hear stories of the King and Queen of Caseonia and couldn’t understand why people were so cruel and unfair. It gave her a bad taste in her mouth about the royal/noble lineage and she began to avoid them at all costs. 

[color=F0F4C3]♘[/color] When she turned five, her parents began introducing her to magic which had become a family tradition and secret. She found it fascinating and enjoyed experimenting with it. Her parents warned her not to show or tell anyone else about it. As she grew older and became more educated, Persephone started realizing the dangers of it and backed away from it. 

Around the same time, her father lost his job at the palace and they were no longer able to live on their farmland. They were embarrassed and shamed and thus moved into a poverty stricken neighborhood which they could afford. Her parents were devastated and began sinking into a deep depression. Her father became obsessed with magic. He became paranoid and delirious, often claiming he’d use it to get back at the royal family. Her mother worked tirelessly at the bakery to make the ends meet. Persephone began learning the art of sewing and knitting so she could sell clothes, while also obsessively learning how to cook, bake and also clean to possibly become a maid for the noble families. She also trained with the sword and bow to learn how to defend herself. The family was low on resources, unable to sleep due to the crime in their neighborhood, and hardly making ends meet. Her father became engrossed in alcohol and drugs as a pastime.

[color=F0F4C3]♘[/color] When she thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did. Her mother’s bakery was robbed and set on fire after the robbery was over. This was the final straw for their family; her mother vowed vengeance while her father became overly protective of her. She was no longer allowed outside the house. They trained her fiercely in magic day and night, hardly allowing her to eat and rest. Persephone was becoming sleep deprived and starving. Her father became erratic from the stress and his influences increased while her mother even tried selling herself. 

[color=F0F4C3]♘[/color] One day, her father’s experiments went horribly wrong. A fire started again, killing her father quickly while her mother suffered a slow, horrible death from being trapped in the kitchen. Persephone managed to escape but not without burns or damage. She fled her hometown and is on her own now.
