well, the marrying age was more of a generic thing. 

 i was thinking, in truth, more legal age, 18 or older. 
one of my rules is no underage characters, although they may be permitted depending on their role in the story. 




well, they can be a fairly opened minded culture, if you'd like. 
i'd certainly be more comfortable with it. 



There can be many types of legends. 




i did not have any cultural/technological things, specifically, in mind, off the top of my head. 



they can be fairly modern for their time, if you'd like, I suppose. 



There is already magic, considering the evil ruler seems to have such power. lol


Well....she can have an underlying dormant power, one the evil ruler may have sensed within her. I am not sure how else to explain it.
