May your thirst for retribution never be quenched. May the blood on your sword never dry. And may we never have need of you again.” Corrax 7:17 Name: [REDACTED] Nicknames/Titles: “Doom Slayer”, “Doom Marine”, “Scourge of Hell” Age: Late 30s/early 40s (speculative; date of birth not determined by UACMC records) Gender: Male Affiliation: Hero
A man of few words and fewer quibbles, the Marine has a strictly-professional, no-nonsense approach to solving problems - usually these would be direct, seemingly bull-headed approaches, regardless of any need of finesse or qualms from others. The Marine does not care about such mewling; so long as the objective is accomplished, that’s all that matters. Despite this seemingly shallow shell of a man-turned-horror of Hell, the Marine does show compassion to those who had ingratiated themselves to him, and can, at times, try to find alternative solutions to crises that do not worsen them. It is likely that as he befriends and fights alongside others, he will allow more and more of his guard to drop around them, permitting him to open up more about his past. But before that day, the Marine only groups other beings into three categories: allies, non-combatants … and the dead.

‘To say that the Marine we have long come to call ‘the Doom Slayer’ has had a … confusing, if near non-existent background record is the epitome of understatement. While UAC records do show an individual that matches his biometrics as having been an enlistee in the Marine Corps, our own knowledge stops there. We do not even have the man’s original name; whether it was erased or since degraded by time, however, I am not certain. All that we are certain of is that this Marine has waged a long and bloody war against the beings of Hell, as well as against anyone that either serves Hell’s cause or interferes with the Marine’s operation. Records from both the ruin world of Argent D’Nur and of Hell speak of a ‘Doom Slayer’ - a being that uncannily matches our roving Marine - and recent expeditions into Hell’s plain have bequeathed to us both the Marine’s last resting place before his revival, and have shed some scraps of light on this being’s storied history. The Marine’s latest claim to fame - if witnesses and records are to be believed - has been single-handedly stopping an invasion of Earth at its sources. While the exact details and hows are still being established, all contact with the Marine was lost just as the last of Hell’s demons mysteriously atomised into the aethyr. Wherever he has gone or what he has done to save our world from damnation, I suspect the UAC has not seen the last of Hell’s sole boogeyman …’

Enhanced Physiology - Whether through the long war he has fought against daemonkind, or through the manipulations of powers beyond our knowing, the Marine is well-above the average human being in stamina, resistance to pain and in reaction times. Though he will eventually be tripped up, wounded - even felled - the Marine will not let his foe take his life so easily. Combat Experience and Weapons Handling - He's the freakin' Doom Slayer. You think he'd be called as such by his fellow humans and the daemons of Hell and Urdak for his baking skills, eh? Praetor Armour - While the precise origins of this armour system are uncertain, observations by UAC personnel note that the design aesthetics and fit suggest a human origin. The package contains - in no particular order - an internal power source, exo-skeleton for transferring weight and protection from falls or jumps gone awry, internal oxygen reserve, communications systems and computer uplinks, and - of course - an outer shell of highly durable armour. The Marine has begun making limited modifications to the Praetor after its recovery on Mars. As iconic to the Marine as the UAC BFG-9000, this armour system is expected to remain with the Marine even should he perish (at last) on the field of battle.

While capable of wielding whatever firearm, melee weapon or ordinance he can get his hands on to accomplish his objectives, the Marine has a number of weapons (and sufficient ammunition) already ‘brought in’ with him upon his revival on Paradox Station. These are: Wrist Mounted Blade - mounted on the left vambrace, this ruler-length, double-edged blade is designed for close quarters engagements. Often used for thrusts, slashes or for parrying blows away in an emergency. UAC Combat Shotgun - semi-automatic, pump-action firearm. UAC Plasma Rifle - automatic energy battle rifle Crucible - rare Argent-powered longsword. Believed to have been the primary weapon of the Doom Slayer during his tenure with the Night Sentinels of Argent D’Nur.
