It was natural selection."

Name: Gabriel Gray Nicknames/Titles: Sylar Age: 31 Gender: Male Affiliation: Villain Personality: Works generally for himself, but when it comes down to it, is not against working with others. He has a low tolerance for ignorance. He is also arrogant of his powers thinking himself invincible, and in some regards, he is. He also has a hunger, a drive to constantly learn how things work. It drives him to commit heinous acts against others all in order to satisfy his curiosity. Biography: Gabriel started out as a watchmaker. He was very gifted at it, able to look at the clockwork and easily figure out how they worked mechanically. When theories of super powers started to spread, he was approached by a lead researcher who wrote the thesis. Having determined that Gabriel didn’t have powers, he took matters into his own hands and tracked down a person thought to have telekinetic abilities. Frustrated by the telekinetic’s lack of understanding of his gift, Gabriel kills him, discovers his own ability, and learns telekinesis by studying the brain. After some coercion from an entity known as The Company, Gabriel adopted the name Sylar and started his serial killing spree. Sylar tracked down several individuals with abilities in an attempt to increase his power as well as to satisfy the hunger of curiosity he had developed towards people with abilities. At the same time, he became the target of other powered beings. Both Sylas and his pursuers came across Isaac, a clairvoyant for the future. Sylas was predicted to be the cause of a nuclear explosion. This knowledge didn’t sway Sylar from his path, fulfilling the prophecy, confronting his pursuers, attacking them, and continuing the grow his power repertoire. Things come to a head when he is finally brought into The Company and he learns of the manipulations used against him. At first he is compliant with their wishes, but comes to terms with himself. He believes that he will always be who he is. With a reaffirmed sense of self, he betrays The Company, kills the woman they had sent to help him understand himself, and took the knowledge he had learned from them to continue his killings, even if he no longer needed to. It is the visions of peace from clairvoyance, the threat of nuclear detonation, and nigh invincibility that prevents Sylar from truly being stopped. Powers/Skills: • Intuitive Aptitude: Sylar’s ability he was born with. He can understand the simple and complex mechanisms of objects and organisms. By observing objects, he can understand how to use them. He needs to see the workings of such items to know how they work. He can also understand any issues objects or organisms might have that prevents their intended function and the means in which he can repair it. This ability does not come with an infinite memory, and he can forget much of what he learns. • Telekinesis: Sylar can lift small to large sized objects at will telekinetically. How fast and far he can move an object is dependent on its mass. Likewise how quickly he can stop moving objects also relates to its mass. So while he can stop bullets, he cannot stop a speeding train. The ability is ineffective against living beings. • Shatter: He can shatter small to moderately sized nonliving things into fragments with explosive force. He needs to be close to a object to trigger it, but he can still be far enough away to avoid shrapnel. • Cryokinesis: Sylar can deep freeze anything or anywhere in close proximity. • Melt: By concentrating, he can turn solid objects into a liquid state without raising temperature. How long this takes depends on the mass. The object eventually returns to a solid as governed by the laws of atomic theory. • Enhanced Hearing: Sylar can hear noises from very far away, isolate certain sounds from a crowd, employ selective hearing to avoid being overwhelmed by sound. • Precognition: He can predict aspects of the future. For Sylar, this is manifested through artistic expression. What he predicts and how far into the future is currently beyond his control. • Radiation: Sylar is immune to the effects of various forms of radiation, including heat. He can also emit radiation from his being. The radiation can be released in small doses, enough to cause radiation sickness. He can also release a torrent of radiation, enough to cause burns, and long lasting severe damage if not treated. He cannot target his radiation, thus it affects everyone around him including himself. • Regeneration: In some regards immortal to mortal wounds, his body will heal itself completely from all injury. This ability also extends to his nervous system and immune system where he is immune to all pathogens. His body cannot correct itself, however. Grievous injury such as broken bones, dislocations, or foreign objects need to be corrected or removed in order for the body to heal. The exception is dismemberment, in which case the body generates a new one. Other: Still time/space manipulation I think.
