Finally figured out a character concept, so here it is.

[indent]Jasper is a tall and lanky individual, standing at six feet with a very thing build. Jasper’s skin is very pale, almost corpse like, as he has spent a long time hidden underground. A notable part of his face is his pale blue eyes which seem to pierce through things with his gaze. These eyes are accented by long blond hair which goes down to Jasper’s shoulders. While not visible, Jasper does have many scars and other reminders of wounds. Living in an apocalyptic world has left Jasper with cuts along his chest, arms, and legs.[/indent]
[indent]The clothing that Jasper wears as a superhero is what he brought from his home dimension. This includes a blue one piece suit, black boots and fingerless gloves, a bullet proof vest, and a gas mask. When he is trying to remain incognito, Jasper wears simple t-shirts, pants, and sweaters. Most of his clothing is bought from thrift stores as that was all he could afford when he first came to this dimension. Jasper prefers solid, simple colors as opposed to gaudy, vibrant clothing.[/indent]

[color=#CC3610]Personality:[/color][indent]Jasper was once an idealistic individual, imagining a bright future for himself and the world. He was easy to get along with, always having a smile and a joke ready. He also seemed to genuinely care about others and their emotions and problems, being quite empathic. Jasper is also adventurous, always wanting to try new things, and as such has many hobbies that lead him to meeting many new people and encountering new ideas.[/indent]
[indent]But these ways were changed by the literal apocalypse. Jasper now has great anxiety, and can be triggered easily. He also spent a long time away from other humans, causing him to regress a little bit when it comes to social cues and picking up on emotions. His mind is also jaded as when he does make a joke, it is often cruel or sarcastic.[/indent]
[indent]But since coming to this dimension, Jasper’s mood has started to improve. He is less nihilistic and actually looks forward to things. He also is around other people regularly, and now will occasionally smile. He is also very protective of human life after witnessing so much loss of it. Jasper feels responsible for his neighborhood and its safety, wanting to genuinely help everyone.[/indent]

[indent]Jasper’s DNA was modified by the Pandora Virus, giving him the ability to generate gems from his skin. He can do this by secreting a liquid from his skin that turns into a red gem when exposed to oxygen. Using this, Jasper can do things like fire shards of gems or coat his skin in a gem armor. These gems are quite durable and get resist large amounts of force, including gun fire. With firing gems at enemies, Jasper is able to shoot them at the relative speed of a bullet.[/indent]

[indent]Jasper is still getting used to his powers. Right now the amount of gem liquid he can secrete is limited as it requires a great physical toll on his body to produce it. He also has trouble creating complex gem constructs, only really being able to consistently create shards to shoot or to coat his body in a layer of gemstone. Also, Jasper sometimes generates the gems by accident when is mind wanders, causing some awkward situations.[/indent]

[color=#CC3610]Flaws/weaknesses:[/color]
[indent]The main drawback of using his powers is that it requires a lot of physical effort. As it is not a natural human process, secreting the gem liquid requires a lot of focus and using it too much can result in pain in Jasper’s body. And while the gemstones are quite durable they can still be shattered by sufficient force. Also the gemstones will naturally dissolve within ten minutes of being created. A surefire way to prevent the creation of the gemstones is to either keep Jasper tired or unable to focus for some reason.[/indent]

[indent]Jasper is quite the skilled artist, having attended a High School for the Arts, focusing on digital art. This led him to pursue a career in video game creation, working for an independent game studio. At the studio he had many roles, meaning he learned how to do a lot of things with a computer. Besides his professional skills, Jasper is also a skilled dancer and soccer player.[/indent]

[indent]Born twenty-four years ago in Woodhaven, a nicer neighborhood in Grailham City, Jasper was the second child of a pair of business professionals. From a young age, Jasper and his older brother were encouraged to pursue different interests and to do their best. For his brother, it was succeeding academically, while Jasper favored art, language classes, and sports. Jasper’s parents quickly realized that he was a skilled artist and decided to nurture that skill.[/indent]
[indent]As a youth, Jasper would attend many different art programs offered at community centers in Grailham, where he would work on his skills. His ability was proficient enough to grant him a spot at the local High School for the Arts. It would be hear that Jasper fine tune his abilities. It was around this time Jasper began doing art commissions online, helping him acquire some money. When Jasper graduated high school, he decided to go straight into the workforce.[/indent]
[indent]Thanks to his presence online, Jasper had made some contacts, finding a job at a local game studio. While it was a small independent studio, Jasper was really impressed with what they managed to produce. Jasper would quickly become one of their top artists, giving a spot on the team for their main game. For several years things were good for Jasper, as he became a fully functioning adult.[/indent]
[indent]However, things weren’t going good for the city of Grailham as a new villain named Terminus had shown up. The local heroes had not been able to stop this mysterious villain or even figure out what his plan was. That was until it was too late. Standing in the center of downtown Grailham, Terminus released the Pandora Virus. Everyone in the city would immediately be infected with it, before it spread out to the further world.[/indent]
[indent]Once infected with the Pandora Virus, after one week, one of three things would happen. You transform into a mindless monster, gain superpowers, or simply die. The virus instantly wiped out civilization as most of the population was either dead or now a beast. For Jasper, he had been visiting his family in Woodhaven when the virus was released. After they were infected, Jasper would elect to remain at the house while they hoped the CDC could treat the virus. But after that first week, everything changed.[/indent]
[indent]Within hours of each other, both of Jasper’s parents died. But before he could even mourn them, Jasper was attacked by his brother who had become a monster. While defending himself, Jasper first created a gemstone construct, as he shot a shard at his brother. It was enough to scare off the beast as Jasper fled the house. Jasper would end up in a CDC camp with the other people who gained powers. But that only lasted a few weeks before the camp was overrun by the newly created monsters.[/indent]
[indent]Jasper would escape the slaughter, hiding in the tunnels underneath Grailham City. He would spend several months below ground, scavenging whatever he could find. Then, after weeks without seeing another human being, Jasper encountered a group who were trying to find all the survivors in the city. Jasper went with them when they revealed that they had a plan to escape the Pandora Virus.[/indent]
[indent]Jasper was taken to an old superhero lab, where they had been working on a dimensional gate. Apparently some survivors had found it and managed to repair it. So the plan was to send the survivors to another dimension where they could live in peace and safety. But before preparations could be finished, the monsters tracked them to the lab. They quickly overtook the lab, forcing the rash decision to just jump into the gate.[/indent]
[indent]Jasper ended up in a new universe, but he was alone. What he didn’t know was that the gate had malfunctioned and sent everyone who went in to a separate dimension. While alone, Jasper was happy to have escaped the Pandora Virus. He would immediately try and integrate with this new world, getting a job as IT support and an apartment in a seedy part of town.[/indent]
[indent]Jasper was also still trying to master his powers, and found a good way to do that was to fight crime. Donning his gas mask and taking the name Crystalis, Jasper would attempt to clean up the part of town he lived in.[/indent]
