One full year is what Lorelei spent in that frigid hellhole of a prison. When they called her name, shackled her, and dragged her into the warden's office she was sure she was finally going to die. She was almost relieved at the thought of it, but her speculations weren't the case. Never in a million years would she have thought that someone had come to rescue her, to free the Veiled Phantom of her sentence. She could kiss the person that was freeing her. She was to be a student at Hoseforn's Academy, a place she'd heard of but never considered herself going to. She wasn't about to complain, however, as this was her ticket out. The journey had been a long one, but she didn't care. She was provided with food, probably more food than she'd eaten in the last three months, and she was warm. By the gods, she was finally warm. A serpentine creature was not meant to live life in the cold. She was shocked she didn't die from it. Now she was here at this academy and she'd looked around, a bit in awe. Unfortunately with how long the journey had been, Lorelei arrived almost late to the feast and thus wasn't able to visit the bathhouse beforehand. Athena hadn't been too thrilled about it, but she'd been shooed away…by a rock. Lorelei had to laugh at that as it was a first for her. At the feast, she had eaten and drank way more than should be possible for a girl her size. She'd gotten a lot of amazed and horrified stares as she did so. She merely glanced at them, smirked, then continued eating. When one had gone a year with very little food, the prospect of eating to satisfaction wasn't an opportunity she'd pass up. Surprisingly, though, she'd finished up long before others and she'd found herself leaving before others as well. She had a hot bath calling her name. The invitation letter that turned into a map was quite useful. While she had a pretty good sense of direction, Lorelei was fairly positive there were quite a few magical properties to this school and had a feeling even the best navigator could get lost. It also didn’t help that whatever that wine was had her feeling quite good, which wasn’t something she often had happen with alcohol due to her body's natural resistance to poison. She had a feeling that this wine also had magical properties to it. She stumbled down the hall of the dorm rooms, using the wall as support and staring at the map. She finally navigated her way to room 326 and leaned against the door for support, reaching for the handle. She felt a tingling sensation and suddenly the door swung open, causing her to fall into the room. She hit the ground with a thud and a slight groan as she rolled over and stared up at the ceiling. ”Welcome, Lorelei Elakha. Perhaps next time you shouldn’t drink so much.” Athena chimed and Lorelei blinked as she tried to comprehend what was happening. Finally she pushed herself up and looked over to the crystal in the room. “The fuck?” She muttered, briefly forgetting about the sassy talking crystal. “This will be your dorm room for the foreseeable future. There is a bathroom in the door to your right that you and your roommate may share if you do not wish to use the public baths. While sleeping in the dorm room is not strictly required, sleeping in any non sanctioned area of the school is forbidden and may result in disciplinary action.” Athena said, seeming to ignore Lorelei. ”Perfect. I’ll be taking a well deserved hot bath now. If you try to talk to me while I’m in there, I’m definitely going to ignore you.” She said and pushed herself off the ground, heading towards the bathroom. A little while later, Lorelei was stepping out of the bathtub and dried herself off. She then wiped the foggy mirror down and stood in front of it, examining her body. She was far too thin, being able to see her ribs. She supposed this wasn’t surprising as the last year she survived off of minimal, non nutritious food. Her skin was also incredibly pale, due to lack of sun exposure while working in the mines. If she were being honest with herself, she looked rather sickly. She had dark circles under her eyes as well which she sneered at. She then turned herself around and glanced over her shoulder, examining the ruined flesh of her back. It disgusted her and she found herself having to look away quickly. Thankfully something else caught her attention, a voice outside the bathroom. Athena seemed to be welcoming someone else and Lorelei realized that her roommate must have just arrived. She then realized something else, she hadn’t brought her pajamas into the bathroom with her. She supposed she could put on her previous outfit, but then she’d have to change out of that again to just put on her comfy clothes. Besides, this person was going to be her roommate for however long, they likely would see her change at some point. If she were in better shape and health she’d even argue that they should feel blessed being able to see her lovely body, but currently that isn't entirely the case. She still had confidence in herself, but she wasn’t fond of how she looked at the moment. So she grabbed her towel and wrapped it around herself before stepping out of the bathroom. She was met with the sight of a tiefling who seemed to have plopped face first into the couch. She caught the tail end of what he was saying and let out a giggle. ”Well if you don’t move from that spot you’re going to find me snuggling up next to you so I can experience the comfort.” She said with a smirk as she stood in the doorway of the bathroom.
