Obadiah was born to a large family in a small town, nestled in the countryside of Ohio. He was comfortable there, very much so, but the family did not have enough room to grow. Inevitably, they moved to larger pastures. An abrupt and rather unwelcome transition for young Odie, thrust from en environment where he knew everything and everyone to where he knew nothing and no-one. Although, not knowing anyone around him didn't stop them from bothering him. As a new countryside kid he was (probably unintentionally) subject to a large amount pressure from his peers, causing him to muddle through high-school with below average marks. Seeing his dismal academic future, Obadiah decided against further education and went straight into a career.

He naturally gravitated towards truck driving, as his father held a similar position. And while the city they lived in was large, it was rather remote, so truckers were in demand. It was a perfect role for him, and he thought he was prepared to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. What he wasn't prepared for was the horrific loneliness of a life in transit. He was fine with isolation, but he felt a distance grow between him and his friends and family - one that didn't seem insurmountable, but he nonetheless felt powerless to bridge the gap. So when an old friend invites him to a quiet country town, he decided it was time to change things, putting his career on ice and heading towards the mysterious town. Perhaps there he would find something to break his lonesomeness.
