An eternal party of nymphs and mortals roaming the countryside sacrificing livestock and humans to a fringe god. It was said that those who got too close would become ensnared by the madness of the god and be forever trapped in an endless party. Much of Greece had banned this cult and worship of this mystery god was punishable by death. Ignoring the strict repercussions many oppressed people would attempt to escape their bonds and flee to the countryside in search of this rumored paradise. They would wander for days upon days throughout the Greek countryside, and when all seemed lost they would hear something. Quiet laughter in the distance grows steadily louder, voices shouting, fire reaching towards the sky from a massive pit in the middle of the party. Thousands of beings are locked in the throes of ecstasy, not a care in the world. It was an extravagant example of debauchery in the name of a mysterious god who shared in those pleasures with his worshippers.

This god had wandered the world for years and visited many corners of the world. Each time period had known a different Dionysus, a different god to represent the times. During the age of the gods, he had been a bloodthirsty conquer who would punish any slight with brutal force. Thebes was burned and the people of Thrace were massacred, all for their unwillingness to acknowledge his godhood. The age of heroes was watched over by the wise Tyrant of Naxos. Along with his queen, he gave counsel to famous legends such as Heracles and King Midas. Finally, during the dark ages of Greece, he was a mysterious cult leader that roamed the lands gathering followers to commit glorious vices in his name. After centuries of living on the mortal plane, Dionysus decided he would live his next life in the Heavens.

He was living with mortals for the first time since the dark ages of Greece and it was a shock to his system. The youngest Olympian seemed to revert to a former version of himself, a less refined god that had existed in a rougher time. Overnight Dionysus seemingly vanished into thin air as he set out to reestablish his cult. Every year he returned to maintain his immortality but for the first time in centuries, the mad god seemed to be driven by a purpose.

As the world modernized Dionysus began to become infatuated with film, as he saw it as the natural progression of his domain of theater. He began to heavily influence the movie industry helping create many passion projects of his. He wrote scripts, directed, and even funded some films through his own personal stash of hidden wealth. He was obsessed with the progression of film technology and constantly worked on improving the industry. Athena and Hephaestus were hounded by their younger sibling as he worked on his pet projects. Decades passed and Dio remained a constant presence in the industry but began to take a hands-off approach. He understood that mortals would make their own advancements, much as Aeschylus and Sophocles did back in the day with theater. In the 1980's he financed a production company and became a shareholder of a few more companies so he could always stay connected to the industry before retreating back into the shadows. He once again languished with his cult and was content to sit back and observe his watch his "child" grow.

Of course, Dionysus couldn't sit still forever and began acting in theater to stave off his boredom. By accident, he managed to catch the eye of some agents and got cast in a small film that was expected to be released straight to streaming services. The movie ended up being the surprise hit of the summer and now after a few more hit films, Dionysus has become a rising star in the industry he helped create. While unsure of how he should deal with the fact he doesn't age, he has decided to just enjoy the present and worry about that later.

He is looking forward to seeing his family, and hopes he could convince at least a few of them to party with him. Of course, returning to god hood would be nice, but that is far from Dio's mind at this point.
