He has loose and scraggly hair, like wild waves crashing into each other. The boy, in an attempt to not besmirch his guild's name, keeps his robes and uniform in pristine condition. Even the way he handles himself; his walk, posture, cadence, general demeanor, are all tailored to not give ill-repute to his fellow wizards. Aside from that, his most striking feature are his vibrant crimson eyes, threatening to pull you in. Class Magus, a more scholarly form of a wizard Personality Ixius is what one could call sheltered. His guild had raised, trained and educated him in the Magus' Towers for most of his life. As such has a warped and overdeveloped sense of pride towards (any form of) magic and wizardry in general due to being exposed to magic for most of his life. He believes magic to be superior and a better form of warfare and combat compared to swordsmanship. "A magicians mere presence on the battlefield can dramatically shift tides of the war. With spells they are able to change the very earth itself and mold it as they see fit." Atleast... that's how Ixius views it. Ixius has an arrogant streak about him and a 'look-down-your-nose' attitude towards non-magic users. It really doesn't take much for Ixius to piss off a random crowd with his words- his intonation and cadence doesn't help his case either. All of his arrogance stems from his love and absolute passion for magic and everything related to it. Ixius harbours great respect and reverence towards magic users who have honed their craft and could speak to them about magical theory and application endlessly. He has a preference to being alone, the young mage can spend hours upon poring upon tomes to the point where he he forgets to feed himself. It's to the point where his own master and higher-ranking Magus urge him to spend more time outside, seeing his methods as unhealthy, especially for a growing kid. Ixius doesn't give much respect to those who have taken upon other forms of combat, the boy doesn't have enough real world experience to know that other forms of combat are strong when used properly and with the right hands. Backstory Ixius was taken into the Magus' Librarium during his youth for having exceptional aptitude and sense for magic. Not that he could even remember his parents or what they looked like. In his youth he absorbed magic theory like a sponge and eventually became enamored with the subject matter. Though explicitly forbidden to, he secretly practiced spells and theory which helped expand his mana reserves during his youth. He's spent nearly a decade of his life to simply reading and understanding magic theory before he was even allowed (officially) to cast a simple fireball spell. The senior magus were surprised at how fast he formed the fireball and noted that it had more power than usual for a magus his age. Even for a Magus, Ixius would spend most of his time researching. His peers would leave him alone as he preferred studying and reading magic than going out to party and socialize. Many viewed this as anti-social behaviour but the boy would prove to be fine on the rare occasion that he did attend gatherings or parties; his peers even found him charismatic (if not arrogant) in the way he spoke, able to articulate and argue his points well. Though the magus tried their best to teach instill a sense of balance regarding magic, even reiterating that magic is not an omnipotent force, he still developed warped sense of superiority regarding magic. This came to a head a famous mercenary band that visited the Magus' Tower for a request. They were openly disregarded and even disrespected Ixius for using non-magic means to achieve their status. Tensions flared and egos bruised. Eventually, the mercenaries, having had enough, drew their weaponry and threatened the young man. Ixius, similarly, began silently concentrating a spell. The Librarium intervened in time, disarming the men of their weapon and dispelling the magic Ixius was casting. Try as they might, the magus in the guild could not successfully rid the stigma that had taken root in the young man. Soon he would be sent to Hoseforn Academy; the Magus' hoped that the Academy could broaden the young Magus' narrow view of the world before his stigma could fester into something worse. Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths

Studious: As one would expect from a Magus, Ixius is a learned individual. He has a working understanding of many different magical theories. He is also quick to learn anything that he takes a keen interest in.

Magic: Ixius has practiced magic well before he was truly allowed to do so. In turn he has developed a larger mana pool than average for his age. He is adept in incantation magicks, more-so than other magus or magicians his age. Ixius can also be considered a beginner in using rune magic, as he has taken interest in recent years.

Concentration: Ixius' concentration is said to be a talent. His concentration is near-unbreakable, even able to shirk off pain to continue casting spells. Secretly, he is able to cast spells chantless, but he has avoided informing others of this.

Magic sense: Ixius has a sensitive sense for magic, able to easily discern any magic used within his general vicinity. He is also able to sense scant traces of magic, long after the magic has been casted.

Stamina: "A studied mind requires a healthy body." A common mantra repeated to him by his master. While he much preferred spending his time studying and researching magic, the Librarium has essentially forced him to take care of his body. The Librarium valued self-care, as Magus upon Magus would sometimes bury themselves in research and destroy their body. As such, their exercise regimen was harsh. Ixius has a excellent stamina compared to normal magicians.

Weaknesses

Physicality: While trained well by the Librarium to have good stamina, Ixius can be said to be notoriously below average or even bad in other forms of physicality. The boy has never taken much of an interest in other forms of physicality not enforced by the Librarium.

Weaponry Ixius essentially has zero experience with weaponry of any sort. Give him a blunt sword and he'd likely find a way to cut himself.

Arrogance with Magic: Ixius believes that magic is the most superior form of warfare and combat. It'd be an undertaking to shift his beliefs in this.

Spirit Magic: While having a working understanding of spirit magic and able to make a pact with spirits, Ixius is unable to use their magic as spirits are wont to avoiding Ixius. Partly due to his general attitude.

Alcohol: Actively avoids alcohol. Ixius is an extreme lightweight and can get drunk easily. Does not like how he is reported to act when drunk as he does not remember his drunken escapades.
