He should be making travel supplies for all of the campers going on a quest, not just Andy and Arthur. There was a pang of guilt hanging in his chest from the comment. He wanted to say something, to apologize for being selfish when suddenly Madalyne came into the room. It was hard to forget the name of a woman who's cursed by your father. The guilt grew deeper, and so did his wanting to apologize. She whispered something into Zeke's ear, immediately making Demi a third unwanted wheel in the room. Sure he and Zeke were going out now, but it wasn't even fully official. At least not until he spoke to Janelle. Demetri took a step back, giving them some space. Instantly he felt as he did back in school, as if his existence alone was wasting space. Whatever it was that she had said to him had clearly set Zeke off. Demi jolted back slightly, bumping into a nearby table with a soft clatter. He began to wish he could disappear, wanting nothing more than to leave the room. He didn't want to interfere with what was happening, yet at the same time he wanted to make sure Zeke was ok. The pair went back and forth for a moment, all the while as Demetri stood there as silent as can be. When it all finally finished Zeke had all but stormed out of the room. His question sounded more like a demand than anything, though Demi would gladly follow behind. He gave Madalyne an apologetic wave goodbye as he shuffled along behind Zeke. He found himself five paces behind the son of Apollo, constantly wanting to say something but the words kept getting caught in his throat. By the time they'd reached the beach it was already too late. Zeke was still in a foul mood, and from the looks of Nancy, she wasn't fairing much better. A part of Demetri wondered if she'd yell again, like she did the night before by the fire. Demi hung back, afraid to get too close to this until he heard her say the prophecy. Though, it sounded more like a warning of death than anything. The way she said with him sent another jab in Demis chest. But just like with Zeke, before he could have any time to react she turned around and began to leave. His eyes began to get misty, his vision starting to blur as he took a deep breath. "No. Fuck that. Both of you are acting like children." Demetri tried to steal his nerves, marching forth towards Zeke before taking his hand in his and trying to lead him towards Nancy. He didn't know which of the two he found more frightening, but he had to do something. "If you wanted to speak to him alone that's fine. But you don't get to leave some cryptic ass message and storm off. Now the two of you talk, I'll be off alone. I'm used to it by now anyways." Demetri could tell when he wasn't wanted, and back at school that was all the time. So why should now be any different? He felt the familiar knots forming in his throat, the pain in his chest as he breathing got shallow, he hated conflict, hated that he was stark in the center of it right now, and hated to the idea that Zeke might die because of him and that his very existence in this moment was hindering any actual conversation to help him out of it. Demetri had no idea what this hotel was, or why they would go there, or even how they would die because of it. It didn't sound all that impressive, but there was clearly more to the story. "Sorry for…sorry for being in the way. I don't care what happens to me just, make sure Zeke knows how to get out of it alright." Demis' hand began to go slack in Zeke's, slowly letting go as he began to walk away from the pair so that they could have their chat. He had no idea what he'd do in the meantime other than try and push down his feelings. He stifled a laugh as she called it cheating, she wasn't wrong, but he liked to think of it as more of an Ace in his sleeve. The corner of his mouth curved into a cocky smirk as she called it impressive, though he was glad she didn't notice the amount of concentration it took to pull it off. He gave her a warm chuckle as he grabbed his bow and slung it over his shoulder. "Well you're not wrong. My dad didn't give me this gift, that would be my mother. As to how I did it." His voice trailed off. Cassian glanced around at all the campers that were staring at them. "It's kinda a secret I don't like to talk about. Maybe if we're ever alone I might share it." He pulled on the collar of his shirt as he began to feel a bit hot, both from the spar as well as the subject. He didn't want others to know his legacy, it was bad enough he was the camp director's son, and gifted with the power of madness instead of vines, but to throw in the legacy of his grandmother? He'd never make a friend in edgewise. "Fastest kid huh? Glad I picked you to spar with then. Gotta be ready for anything, even those with immense speed. That is…if I'm ever picked for a mission. "
