Hey, my name is Jack and I've been rping for a good 4-5 years. I consider myself to be a rather literate writer and I enjoy OOC discussions and plotting. I often write long detailed responses ranging from 800-2000 words depending on my partner. I am a college student currently so my schedule can become hectic at times. I'm usually pretty good at communicating but expect periods of gaps in my replies. I have a particular idea that I'd come up with based on past roleplays that I've done. Feel free to give it a look and don't hesitate to reach out if you find the idea interesting. If possible, I ask that you provide a writing sample. I'm not picky when it comes to a partner but I would like them to be able to somewhat match me in terms of literacy and details in replies. I'm happy to provide one of my as well if requested. Setting: This rp will take place in a medieval fantasy setting that focuses on swords and magic. The country of Almeria will be where most of the story takes place but I would love to potentially expand the develop the world further with my partner. Premise: Broadly speaking, I'd envisioned this rp as centralizing on the conflict between the human nation of Almeria against the invading demonic hordes that'd recently been united by a powerful demon prince. Now, I can see this rp going several ways depending on my partner's preference. As you might've guessed, I plan to take the role of the demon prince. I'm open to pretty much any pairing. I'm going to list a few examples below but I'm always open to fresh ideas. I also don't mind doubles and taking on multiple roles. Demon Prince x Princess: I'd envisioned this pairing as being more of a meeting of chance. Perhaps the demon prince was injured during a battle and was forced to flee the battlefield after his army scattered. He eventually stumbled near the capital where he took up a human form and was found by the princess in the woods. As for why she was there, well that's up to the imagination. Demon Prince x Knight/Captain: This will likely be more fight orientated as YC will take up the position of either a soldier or leader within the Royal army fighting against the demons. Essentially, it will focus on the two character's rivalry and potential development into something more. Demon Prince x Commoner: This can go multiple ways as well. It can even boast some similarities to the first idea where the prince randomly encounters YC. For some reason that we can discuss, he chooses to spare her and take her along as his prisoner or companion. Below is a short post that basically sums up the background and setting. It's an excerpt from the starter that I had prepped for this rp but I had chosen to exclude most of it since it's only really relevant to a particular idea. I do plan on expanding on it depending on what we come up with.
For centuries, the demons of Carne have been characterized as being barbaric and uncivilized. People often view them as being a race of mindless and malicious monstrosities that exist only to spread chaos. Since the dawn of time, the demon society has been divided into various warring clans. These clans fought one another relentlessly over the control of the demonic realm known as the Desolation. It was only with the emergence of a powerful Demon Prince that the clans finally came under a central authority. In the years preceding the emergence of this powerful demonic coalition, the Empire of Almeria had existed in relative peace. It was regarded as being the strongest of all the human nations on the continent. They were served by several subjugated states from past wars which only bolstered their strength. For years, it seemed as if the kingdom would continue to prosper limitlessly. That would've been the case had it not been for the demon prince's campaigns of bloody and relentless conquest. No one had foreseen the demonic invasion. Their arrival was heralded by seismic waves and thundering weather. Pitch black clouds swirled in the air like a whirlpool seeking to devour all that came near it. For the next few decades, the demonic horde under the mysterious Demon Prince rained havoc upon the nations of Carne. The demons slaughtered and massacred all in their paths. Those that refused to surrender found their villages and towns burned to the ground, their cities torn into ruins, and their countries turned into barren wastelands. Those that submit were largely spared from death. However, they would be forced to watch as the demons pillaged their lands and committed heinous deeds upon their inhabitants. It wouldn't take long for tales of this Demon Prince to spread throughout the continent. He was described as being an immensely powerful demon who is both brutal and cunning. He displayed zero concern for the sanctity of life and was responsible for having personally ordered the execution of thousands of people. While demons have a natural disdain for life in general, the prince's hatred seemed to run deeper than that. Thanks to Almeria's location in the far east, it was kept largely untouched by the demonic hordes. Despite pleas from its neighbors for intervention and aid, Almerian Emperor Raymond II had refused as he had hoped to exploit the demonic invasion's weakening of its rivals as an opportunity to annex new territories. But the emperor had grossly miscalculated his plan. He had expected the demons' momentum to gradually dissipate with every battle but in reality, it was the exact opposite. In only a few short years, most of Almeria's neighbors had been consumed by the crimson tide, leaving little to nothing for the emperor to conquer or exploit. And now, Almeria was left vulnerable and without allies. Located near the sea and surrounded by fertile and strategic terrain, Almeria was able to remain largely untouched up until the collapse of its neighboring nations. It boasted a strong military centralized around magic. By the time the demons had reached Almeria's borders, they'd left behind a continent of ruins. All those who refused to bend the knee were massacred in mass. Before long, Almeria was left standing as the sole bastion of human sovereignty. The other surviving states, some also untouched by the hordes, had refused Emperor Raymond's call for support. Their reply mirrored the same action that the emperor had taken years before when its own neighbors pleaded for its aid. Having come so far, the demon prince had no plans of leaving this nation standing and so, he ordered his horde to continue their incursions. The next several months saw demonic victory one after another, up until they were only a few miles from the capital. Casualties were massive on both sides. It didn't take long for panic and fear to spread throughout Almeria. As the demons approached the capital of Arwinter, the emperor and his advisors knew that they needed to repel the invaders as soon as possible.
