Yet he's a hero. He can be humble when the time needs him to be, he's compassionate and caring. Raised alongside his adoptive brother Loki Laufeyson by his father Odin Borson and adoptive mother Freyja Freyrdottir. Thor was pushed and tested at every hurdle. The first apparent heir to the union between the Aesir and the Vanir. Thor would one day become King, and Odin made sure that Thor was going to be ready. At an early age, Thor struggled with the brutal tactics of his father. Thor was no coward, nor was he afraid of battle, killing, or death. Thor however had a strong sense of honor and compassion instilled into him by Freyja. The tactics Odin utilized to bring 'peace' held much more interest to the cunning Loki than to Thor. The Young God truly didn't feel at home until the war between realms resulted in him being sent to Midgard to act as one of its protectors during the middle ages. Thor revealed in the battle, but more importantly, he became absorbed in the way that the mortals lived and breathed. Never in his long life had he felt so alive. As if he was finally in the right place and right time. As outside threats to Midgard decreased, division among the Gods threatened to tear Midgard asunder. Odin having eight other realms to worry himself over decided to retreat from Midgard, much to Thor's disappointment. Gaining his power through Mjolnir and the crown prince was only the next logical step. All was well. Until Odin ordered the execution of Jotuns that had rebelled against his rule, Jotuns that had already been defeated. In an act of defiance unheard of in all his life, Thor slammed Mjolnir into the ground in a fit of rage incapacitating everyone nearby, allowing the Jotuns to go free. Before anyone awoke Thor was gone. He traveled for centuries among the eight realms. Righting wrongs, fighting for those who needed it. Glory and praises were sung to him in a variety of tongues from many places as he skulked around passageways he and Loki had explored as children. He gathered like-minded individuals in the form of Lady Sif and the Warriors Three. They were unbeatable. Until they finally drew Odin's wrath. As Odin himself came to bring his meddlesome son home, he quickly incapacitated Thor's allies before stripping him of Mjolnir and casting it away. The argument between the All-Father and All-Prince thundered throughout the heavens and through the realms of mortals. In the battle of wits, Thor foreswore his birthright. Odin stripped him of his name and cast him out, without Mjolnir, to Midgard. Forbidden to ever return, under penalty of death. This is a Thor that is secure in who he is as a hero, but he is very unsure on where his place is in all of this. He is without Mjolnir, but he still has some power available to him. My plan is for him to find his place in Asgard and how that relates to Midgard and the other realms. This Thor is essentially the opposite of how I usually play it. Usually, he knows his place, but not really who he is. This Thor knows who he is, but not where his place is or how to take his place in this cosmic tale of Gods and Magic. As always there's going to be a hidden threat that only our Hero knows about, who appears to have been around longer than you would think. The sky above was full of dark rolling clouds that stretched far beyond the horizon. Thick, heavy snowdrops danced in the howling wind. No beast dared to brave the harsh conditions. None but a man, nay. A God. Dressed in naught but a torn red cape, blue shirt, black trousers, and a pair of leather boots tramped through the snow. His skin as clean and fresh as it would be had he been walking on a pleasant summer's eve. Thor had experienced worse winters. Here on Midgard when the Jotuns opened the casket of ancient winters, and any day spent on Jotunheim. The axe weighed heavy on his back, yet he didn't let it deter him. Each footfall crunched and cracked through the snow and the ice. His trail was quickly covered up by the fresh snow, if anyone wanted to follow him they wouldn't be able to use traditional means. Not that anyone who was tracking the wayward God would use traditional, or even mortal, means. He couldn't help but cast a wayward glance skyward. It was times like these he wished that he had spent more time on Lokis tricks, Heimdall was a good friend but honour bound to his duty to a fault, there was no way he could get away with this without it being reported back to his Odin. Lowering his gaze back down he saw his destination. A lone mountain, Thor could see the flickering lights from the cave already. There was some kind of saying about birds of a feather flocking together. He had heard it several times on Midgard, this seemed like one of those times. Still, without Mjolnir, he had no option. Jarnbjorn was a mighty weapon, but it wasn't enough. He could feel the familiar weight in his hand, raising it up he opened his fist revealing a sliver of Uru. The only keepsake that he had managed to sneak past Odins watchful gaze on their last meeting. Thor only hoped it would be enough.
[/cell][/row]
