Tess is quite thin but lithe, short but capable, and while she does only stand at over 5 feet tall (maybe 5'1" if you push it) she is toned from dedicated fitness training. Despite a fairly athletic build, just about everything else about Tess screams daintiness, contrary to her best efforts. Between her aforementioned height and slightness, her copy-paper stark white skin, her button nose and her small, heart-shaped face, the only thing that Tess has which looks fearsome is her soul-piercing glare, which has been described by multiple sources as truly terrifying. Tess's hair is naturally brunette, close to black, but she's been dying it blue as part of a new fashion trend. She has eyes that are so green they seem nearly aquamarine in color. Tess dresses to impress, most of the time; regardless of whatever she's wearing, it's undoubtedly from the most bourgeoise brand that money can buy.
P E R S O N A L I T Y
P E R S O N A L D E S C R I P T I O N Tess is difficult to work with. She's thoroughly pretentious and and decidedly snobbish, with an air of arrogance so thick you can quite nearly feel it whenever she enters a room. Having been born and raised in the upper class, Tess was bred in an environment where she learned that she was superior by nature of her lineage. She projects these thoughts and sentiments very openly, with a blunt, crass attitude that earns her scowls (something she doesn't mind, as she gets to scowl back at them.) She's very greedy and only charitable insofar as her charity helps her social standing; it's rare to see Tess do something without getting something in return. Tess' indifference to her peers is truly her at her best; when people stand in her way or irritate her, Tess is openly hostile, condescending, and frustrating in a way that very few can hope to match. Tess is superficial to the max, a materialist who cares deeply about the physical things, whether that be her own appearance, makeup, clothing, jewelry, heirlooms, artifacts, pieces of tech, or just cold hard cash. If there's something that she can get, it's obviously that Tess will want it, and it's simply assumed that Tess will get it. Even things that Tess pretends to dislike are secretly on her list of acquisitions. While Tess projects an air of indifference about others' opinions of her, Tess truly desires to be liked, or at the very least, feared. Tess simply finds the short-term allure of glimmering gold too tempting to withhold. Tess is a diagnosed kleptomaniac as wealth, to her, is an addiction. Tess pretends to enjoy competition but is a truly sore loser. It's more accurate to say that Tess enjoys to win, and that a defeat of any kind is simply a non-option for her. While she is normally cool as a cucumber and masterfully unemotional, it's when she starts to suffer a defeat that her emotions, her passions, and her well-reputed nastiness start to rear its head. Tess is largely amoral. Cheating, stealing, and conniving is frankly second-nature to her, part of the way she was born and raised in the corporate world. To her, victory and defeat are a binary, an established dichotomy, and the winner does, in fact, take it all. Tess would always rather be on the winning side, and is willing to go to any length to ensure that she remains on the winning side. Unlike many Contractors who view their employers as means to an end, with indifference, or even with disdain, Tess appreciates what the Corporations do and sees rising the ranks of the Corporate ladder to be a net positive. Tess presents herself as somebody that has 'defeated' love and does not desire nor have a use for companionship outside of a business setting. Truthfully, Tess is just plain old lonely, and while her attitude is fairly inexcusable, she is a product of her family and surroundings. The hardness and detachment she was raised and surrounded with have unfortunately lodged its way into Tess' soul. Occasionally, an observant onlooker may peer into her soul and find some positivity, some amicability, some kindness, and even a shred of a hopeless romantic, all trapped underneath a steely, icy shell of a young woman. Some genuine friendship may be all that's needed to warm her up, but in the words of one of her corporate handlers: "staying in a room with her for 5 minutes without blowing your brains out is a million-dollar contract, in it of itself." The Wyndemere family is a well-established Diamond District clan going back to before the Resource Wars, where Tess's ancestor worked in the British parliament and established an early relationship with the then-budding F&M Group, contracting the corporation to supply a significant number of weapons for the British army. When the Resource Wars were midway and the construction of Nova City began, the Wyndemeres were one of the first to abandon the Union Jack and cross the pond to the United States, where they invested their wealth into the F&M Group's projects. Needless to say, the investment paid its dividends. The Wyndemeres earned themselves a comfortable spot in the upper-class of Nova City; they lived the penthouse in the Diamond District type of life, working comfortable, cushy jobs for the Corporation while raking in the big bucks. This familial wealth persisted down to the birth of Tessa Wyndemere, who lived, obviously, the life most would dream for: high wealth paired with low expectations. The Wyndemeres, for generations, had earned their fortunes by, frankly, sitting on their asses, and Tessa's only lesson was to not squander it, and kiss up to the people that gave them the check. Tessa was naturally independent, smart, but also very withdrawn. She was never interested in playdates, or having fun in the parks, or going to parties and the like. She was incredibly self-focused and driven. [WIP ;c] I N I T I A T I O N What brought you to the Contractor way of life and got you hired? The DiamondCutters can be launched at adversaries, used as close-range weapons, used as a grappling hook, used as a safecracking tool, and has a number of other minor built-in features. The hardlight projectors within the gauntlets are highly expensive and make the gadget very expensive.
