While Yuria was born in Nova City, her parents were a different story. Both were foreigners brought in by the corporations as Contractors, with them eventually meeting and working as a husband and wife team. While Yuria had a decent middle-class upbringing, she was also given combat training by both of her parents, as working in the underworld gave them a healthy appreciation for constant preparation and vigiliance. Too bad that didn't last long for them. 

Both of Yuria's parents died on the same job in her late teenage years, leaving her with little to her name as their assets were seized according to their debts. Their contacts, corporate or otherwise, all dried up, either refusing to give an unproven teenager the time of day or unwilling to let her enter this line of work. Thus, unwilling to live an ordinary life and wishing to live up to her parents' legacy, Yuria took her first steps into the underworld.

Over the last few years, Yuria has made a small name for herself as a low-level Contractor, doing good work in sweeping up gang operations and chasing down bounties. The contacts and reputation she established have been enough to get her foot in the door with some of her parents' old contacts, and she eagerly seeks to make her name in the big time.
