How he was treated by the institution he swore to portect left him a bit jaded. He has no tolerance for excuses and believes there is a solution to any given problem. It may not always be "ethical" but none the less there is a solution to be taken. Vic finds it difficult to trust others but has an instinct to help treat others when in critical condition. At his core he is a protector, even if his sense of duty is conflicted with the memories of being left for dead, poked and prodded, and recycled back into combat without even an apology. [SUB]C H R O N I C L E[/SUB]
Vic's origins begin in poverty and with hardknocks on the street. Landing in juvey, his desperate parents sent him to military school. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Telosian Air Force. Vic's superiors encouraged him to apply for special warfares. He would decide that would be the most fitting path and trained up to become a pararescuer, learning special tactics and combat medicine. He was deployed to combat zones and on humanitarian missions for 5 years before the comet arrived. Vic was one of the first responders after the debri fired from the comet. He would be tasked to provide fire and medical support to six teams of special force operators who were to restore power at an electrical plant hit by the raining debri. Inside the plant the six teams were engaged by hostile lifeforms. Three out of six were KIA after 3 minutes of first contact. One team went missing, and the other two retreated outside of the electrical facility into the courtyard where they received cover fire from Vic and his partner from their chopper above. The two remaining teams would fight in the courtyard for 10 minutes before a window opened that allowed Vic and his partner to fast rope in to treat the injured. They would fight for 15 more minutes before an evacuation convoy arrived to pull out the survivors. Vic, his partner, and two other team members held the line as the others were secured into the convoys. Unfortunately as Vic and the others decided it was time for their retreat, they were overrun. The convoy took damage as they escaped. In a strategic decision to contain the hostile forces, a fire mission was granted regardless of the missing team and the downed troops left behind. The Telosian Air Force decimated four city blocks from ordnances that directly dentonated after impacting the electric plant. In the aftermath, Vic awoke unscathed and in the middle of a scorched earth. Disoriented and confused as to how he survived after swearing he experienced being cut down by otherworldly lifeforms, he was met with a new scenario. Quarantine. The entire city had been sectioned off by Telosian military personnel. Thought to be dead, Vic, was unable to convince any of the military personnel to call up the ranks to verify his status as a soldier. Instead he was commanded to go back where he came until orders around the quarantine changed. No one was allowed in or out, no exceptions. Vic would survive in the city for 30 days before attempting to save a family from looters. He was mistaken as one of those looters by a platoon of Telosian forces who were patrolling the area. Vic was shot while trying to communicate to the platoon what happened. When one of the soldiers approach Vic's body to verify he was KIA, the soldier leaned down to check Vic's carotid. Vic's reaction was one he calls, "a possession". A force came over him or exploded from within him and his hand manipulated the blood he was losing into a solidifed blade that punctured the soldiers temple. He then reached for the soldiers grenade pin, pulled it, and kicked him back about 7 feet with strength he had never experienced before then. The dead soldier exploded in the middle of the street intersection where the rest of the soldiers scattered for cover. Vic escaped, but the "possession" did not let up. Instead of leaving the hot zone, he hunted. One by one he killed each soldier in that platoon by varying degrees of powers that Vic could not explain. Body cams were recovered from the dead platoon and Vic was re-categorized from KIA to MIA and a priority one asset to the Telosian government. They saw him manipulating his own blood and the blood of those he killed. There were other anonamlies like Vic's that were being reported but this "blood manipulation" was unique to those reports. The Telosian government wanted to study and test Vic to see if he held a key to combatting the hostile lifeforms which gained the name, "Stigma". Eventually, Vic was apprehended after several attempts and was secured in a maximum security research facility. Vic was released after the Telosian government merged with the other countries forming the United Defense Force (UDF). The UDF's primary objective was to eradicate the Stigma by any means necessary. The new means was a special reconnaisance group comprimised entirely of Aeons - humans chosen by spirits that evoke supernatural abilities. These spirits were identified to have emerged after the debri fell, and scientists could not define whether they were here the whole time and responded to the alien threat or if they came with the alien threat. The reputation of Vic begins with his first contact story and solidifies due to his acts against the Telosian platoon. Soldiers in varying parts of the world would call him a "Blutjäger", "Ketsueki hantā", "Bloodhound", "Demon", or "Devil". His source of power is unnerving to a lot of people and some Aeons. Not to mention that there is his historical report of being unable to control his blood lust in the beginning stages of his Aeonic development that ended the lives of his own country men. Never the less, he has successfully proven to the UDF his value. Before the Aeon unit was developed, he primarily conducted medical and protective details with the occassional offensive solo mission for collecting information in extremely hostile Stigma zones. Draw it out and solidify his blood into weapons. The spirit can coagulate the blood at faster speeds to stop wounds from becoming life threatening. The spirit has also been able to help Vic with sensing the blood of other life within a 5 km radius. It has even been cited in journals during the scientific trials imposed on him after the platoon incident, that he can increase blood flow to certain muscle groups that enable a brief period of increased strength, stamina, and reflexes.
