"Yes, I know that working here isn't your dream but hey, it pays the bills and it keeps your family happy, right? You have to work now and you can always enjoy your life later when you retire."
Name: Yama, Sloth Age: About 3,000 years ago, give or take a couple hundred of years Race: Demon Appearance: Devilishly handsome, pun intended. He looks about 30-40 years old with lovely pale skin that is clean shaven, red eyes, and onyx hair. He is usually only seen wearing a full black suit that he pairs with his many different red ties. His face look very gentle, but his eyes are more intense. He is very tall, standing at 6"1, but his shoes have a slight lift that make him closer to 6"2. In the past, he was more "scary" looking. He was known for his red face and long beard. He has changed his appearance as the times has changed. Being good looking had more benefits now than being scary.

Personality: In the past, Yama has been seen as a ruthless judge who punishes those who had sinned. He has given many harsh punishments such as tongue removal, skin peeling, etc without any remorse. However, he grew tired of the torture and wanted to do something else. In modern times, he is a charismatic leader who is able to convince his workers to work overtime and attend "team building" activities that distract them from their real goals in life. He couldn't be described as morally evil or good. His job is to punish sinners, and while he does take some joy in it, is it really evil if they deserve it? He is also "punishing" them so that in their next life they can start anew. Maybe in reality, he has a deep love for humans. He is doing everything for their sake, but even he doesn't fully know why he does what he does. Begrudgingly, as he works with humans now, he has witnessed their humanity first hand, and his heart has softened... somewhat. It seemed that even he was shirking away from his responsibilities of punishing humans as he became more focus on redeeming the living. Background: Yama wasn't the first demon, but he definitely was not the last. He is well known in Buddhism as the ruler of hell. In reality, he only ruled a small sector of it, but he was still a big time demon. In wanting to be more efficient in his soul cleansing, he pitched the idea of punishing humans in their life cycles rather than when they die. So it became his job to seek out sinful souls of the living and to give them a chance to become a better person next time without the gruesome punishments. Over the years, he was able to develop a company, whose main job is ambiguous at best, and none of the employees really know what it is that they do. All they know is that they work long hours for somewhat good pay. Yama has recruited people of various backgrounds, all with sins that they need to work out. They also do a lot of charity events which helps with their karmic balance. In their employment causes, they are not allowed to leave their job until they balance their karma and will have to pay a hefty fine if they try to end their termination early. He prevents those from following their dreams or doing things that they are meant to do in life by making them do busy work instead. When a being called The Detective reached out to call Yama, he initially thought it was a prank and hung up. When the Detective showed up in his office, he wanted to call security, but something about the Detective made him stop and listen to what they had to say. After much thought, Yama decided to go along with the Detective's plan. Innocents didn't need to be punished, but these Outcasts definitely did. Skills and Abilities:

Mundane: Human Resource He has a very large staff base all over the world that is willing to do almost anything (within reason) for him for paid overtime.
Mundane: Charm He is a very charismatic person who can persuade most people to do anything. He can also lie and manipulate others very well.
Magic: Contracts His contracts are magical and if one isn't careful, one could accidentally sell their soul to the devil. Must be signed with his magic pen though to be valid.
Magic: Demonic Power He has the ability to channel and control demonic power. This allows him to transform to his demon form and control hellfire. In that form, it also increases his physical strength and speed. But because of his peaceful life in the human world, he has not taken this form in a very long time and may struggle with reawakening.
Magic: Fire manipulation He has the ability to create fire and manipulate it. He mostly uses it now to light candles, but it has its combat uses.
Weakness:

Holy Water, or other types of Holy tools and magic It quite literally burns him.
Can't step into a church For obvious reasons and see above
Bound to contracts and agreements He is pretty good at finding loop holes, but is not immune to being tricked into a contract that would be unfavorable for him and does have to comply with it.
