Probably better. Considering if you consider other elves in different franchises. Dragon Age City Elves are literally slaves to humans. Your even denied marrying Alistair for being one if you make him King of course. While the Dalish/Danish elves are just nomads who live pretty peacefully amongst nature. 

And Legolas from LOTR was just badass. I just liked him for the battle with him and the dwarf counting their kills xD

So many elves from so many games or shows I adore.

Though I agree, a few of the High Elves for Skyrim are irritating, but I don't think all of them are like that xD
